Your eyes grew wide as you looked up at the dwarf standing right in front of you.  With a sullen look, he gently took your hands.

"Lass," he softly said.  "I cannot risk you coming on the journey.  I've lost many.  I cannot lose you as well," Bofur gently brushed the hair out of your eyes.  Your eyes widened slightly.

"What?" you gave him a look of disbelief.  "You're not going to let me go because you're scared?  That's not fair-!"  Bofur gave you a sharp look and you frowned up at him.  "I never got to see where I was supposed to grow up.  I'm not going to let some stupid dragon take it away again," you stood up.  "I'm going on the journey whether you like it or not-"

He frowned softly before he gave a small nod.  "Fine . . . but promise me you'll stay by my side, my child.  Your mother would not have liked it if I let you out of my sight."  You gave him a soft look before you tightly hugged the dwarf, nodding immediately.

"I promise, father."
