You watched Bilbo from afar - it was almost as if you were invisible to the hobbit man, even if you yourself were a hobbit woman. He never looked twice at you, and even though you tried your hardest, nothing you did to get his attention ever seemed to work.
You could only hope it could have been worse, but when you noticed him looking at you one day, you felt like you could do something to your strongest ability. You would tell him how you feel . . . or at least, ask him how his day was. The latter sounded better. Oh well - you had to start somewhere, didn't you?
