"I'm gonna die," Boromir blurted, gripping onto your arm.  Your eyes widened.

"What?  No, no, you're not gonna die," you pulled him closer, frowning deeply to yourself.  "Why the hell would you say that?  You're going to make it home-"

"No . . . no, I am not."  Boromir looked up at you with sad eyes.  "I will not make it home.  Father wouldn't want me home anyways . . . I can die a hero." he leaned up to kiss your forehead.  "I am okay with dying on this journey," he gave her a soft smile.

You sniffled softly and cupped the man's cheeks, pressing your forehead to his.

"But you need to go back home and return to your family . . . your family needs you," he softly said.

"And I need you, Boromir.  I don't know how you cannot go home peacefully knowing you won't be coming home with me."

"Don't say that," he softly said.  "You know you can live without me.  You did it all that time before.  I am going to die before the journey ends and that's it . . . don't try to save me."

You stared at him for a moment, softly sniffling.  "Okay . . . I am sorry I could not save you from your thoughts," you rested your head against his shoulder as he pulled you close to his chest.

"Don't say that," he simply replied, not letting you go.
