If Legolas could say he had any emotion, he would describe it as fear. He was terrified by the fact that you could die at any given moment. He was terrified of the fact that he could outlive you - for thousands of more years. He wished you were an elf, with all of his Elvish heart. He wished that he could give up his immortality - he knew his father would never allow it.
Legolas was afraid of you leaving him. He was afraid that you would find a man to go off with - a man who you could grow old together with. He was afraid of the little things.
However, his love was stronger than his fear. He would live for you and the child you would soon bring to him. He would love that child more than anything, their face reminding him of the love he would never forget - even if fear sometimes made him think otherwise.
