Thorin held your cold, dead body tightly in his arms. You had died, right there in front of him-there was nothing that he could have done to prevent it. And yet, he kept asking himself, "What if?" What if he had done something differently? What if he had forbidden you to come along on the journey? What if he had actually told you he loved you before you met your untimely demise? But all of that was irreversible now. He couldn't do a thing but watch as a slow trickle of blood formed underneath your body, while his nephews tried to talk him away from you. But he wouldn't move. He just wouldn't.
