(Dan's POV)

"Don't worry, Dan. I'm ok. I promise." I looked at my boyfriend, severely unconvinced at his statement. "This is such a huge deal for you: getting to speak at Vidcon all by yourself! You should be happy!" "Well, yea, but you should be up there with me. Talking! You deserve it more!" "I don't deserve it more, Dan. I might want to, but not everything works out the way you plan it, ok? Now then." Phil stepped towards me, straightened my bow tie, and ran his fingers through my curls before pressing a soft kiss to my lips. "You look dashing. You are so handsome." I couldn't help but blush as he complimented me. His words somehow always have that affect on me. "So do you." He was also dressed up, for even though he wasn't going on stage, I reasoned with him to dress up nicely. Besides, he only thinks that he isn't going onstage. "You ready?" he asked. "Yea."

"How did you find inspiration to start making your videos? Good question." I was almost out of time on stage, so it was time for the audience to ask me questions. "I can't say what gave me inspiration, per say, but I can tell you who gave me that inspiration. You see, I only have one person to thank for getting me where I am today: my amazing boyfriend."

I gestured to the side of the stage where Phil was sitting, causing the audience to fall silent. After all, we had always kept our relationship a secret He looked at me with this expression of shock and confusion as I beckoned for him to come on. I shot him a smile as he walked on stage and stood beside me. "Without him, I wouldn't be here today. I owe it all to him for pushing me to do my best. For forcing me to make that very first video. For helping me drop out of Uni. For sheltering me in his house while I didn't know where to go. If you enjoy watching my videos, well, you have Phil to thank. He's the reason I am up here on this stage. He's the reason I'm not some awful lawyer who couldn't even get you $1 if he begged." He was blushing madly at this point as I complimented him, hands fidgeting with each other as he shared my spotlight. I reached over and gently grasped his hand, squeezing it to reassure him before continuing to talk. "I want to thank you all for being so supportive of me and for enjoying my videos. It means so much to me, but I want you to know that when you're watching my videos, it's not just me behind the magic. It's this lovely, charming, caring, and talented young man standing here beside me that's making this whole thing possible. Like I said, I owe so much to him. And Phil," I said as I turned away from the audience and towards him. "I love you. I love you to the ends of the earth-no-to the ends of the universe. You have been the best friend, boyfriend, and I dare say soulmate I can ever dream of having. So, if you'll allow me to do this..."

I released his hand to reach into my back pocket and pull out the box, kneeling on one knee as I held it out to him. "Philip Michael Lester, through thick and thin, sun and rain, sickness and health, you have always been there for me. And I want to always be there for you. So, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" And I opened the box.

The entire room was dead silent as Phil stood there, hands clasped over his mouth and tears streaming down his face. I could feel my heartbeat pounding in my eardrums; I was so scared. He blinked his eyes, somehow bringing himself back to the reality that he did, in fact, have yet to answer my question. He shook his head slowly, causing my heart to stop.

"You are so dorky, but I couldn't have it any other way. Of course, you numpty," he whispered.

And when I leapt up to plant a big kiss on his lips, the audience erupted into screams. I closed my eyes and allowed the feeling of his hands gripping my waist and his lips crushing mine to take over all of my senses. We eventually pulled back just enough so I could slip the ring onto his finger. I looked back up to him once the band was secure and saw a huge smile spread across his lips. I put my arm around his waist and placed a soft kiss onto his forehead as he tore his gaze away from the ring.

"Thank you," he quietly said so only I could hear. "Of course. After all, I owe it all to you." And we kissed like no one was watching.
