Austin

Reading the text calmed my nerves.

Noah
Jess said you're dropping her off?

"He just wants to know if I'm dropping you off," I said. "Wait a few minutes to make it look like you're working," she told me.

I nodded my head and put my phone down.

"I'm tired of this," I sighed, closing my books.

"I'm almost done so ha ha," Jess smiled.

While she did that, I walked over to my dresser and searched through one of my draws.

I pulled out my Juul and inhaled a mouthful on my way back to my bed.

I caught Jess' attention as soon as I blew it out.

"I thought you lost it," she said, taking it from my hand and copying my action.

"I got a new one," I told her.

The pen hissed as she took in a breath.

"Want to see something else?" I asked. She looked at me curiously.

I went to my closet and unzipped a pocket to one of my coats, pulling out my weed oil pen.

I waved it in my hand to show her.

"What's the difference?" She asked.

I pointed to the one she was holding. "Vape." And then held up the one in my hand. "Weed."

"Well, weed oil," I corrected myself. She held her hand out as I dropped the pen in her hand.

She took in a breath, and coughed it out before I could stop her.

"Oh my gosh," she coughed. "You need smaller intakes with this one. It's stronger," I informed her.

She nodded her head and took my instruction, blowing it back out.

"It smells horrible," she smiled. "You get used to it," I shrugged, taking it from her.

The next half hour was spent getting high and laughing at almost everything.
"I read something the other day that tripped me out," she said. "What was it?" I asked.

"The word 'mercedes' has three E's, all pronounced differently."

I spent a few seconds repeating the word in my head, bursting into laughter.

"Did you text Noah?" Jess asked. "Oh, not yet."

I took out my phone and finally responded.

Me
Yeah I will

Noah responded within a few seconds.

Noah
Thank you

Me
👍

"I need one of these," Jess said, taking another hit from the weed oil pen.

"I know a guy," I mentioned. "I'll grab one for you."

"Thank you," she smiled, leaning against my shoulder.

She went to take another hit, but I stopped her before she could.

"Don't overdue it," I said. Her mouth fell open as I set the pens down. "Party pooper."

"Am I?" I asked, leaning closer to her. "You are," she nodded, before I molded my lips with hers.

We parted at the sound of my alarm ringing on my phone. "We have to get going," I said.

"I don't want to," she whined. "Same here, but I don't want you to get in more trouble."

I helped her gather her things into her bag, as we went downstairs and outside into my car.

"Thank you for today," she smiled at me, as I pulled up to her house. "You're welcome," I also smiled, pecking her lips.

I waited until she disappeared into her house, before driving off.

When I got home, my mom's car was coming down the block. I hurriedly parked and went inside, running up to my room and hiding both pens.

I ran back downstairs and picked up the subway scraps, throwing them in the trash.

Just as my mom walked in, I opened the fridge to act as if I was looking for food.

"How was school?" She asked, setting her things down. "Good," I lied. "How was work?"

"Stressful," she sighed. "Can you do me a favor, I forgot to stop by the store. Can you pick up two travel toothbrushes for your father and me," she said, pulling a fifty out of her wallet.

"Right now?" I asked. "Whenever you want. But the trip was extended from Thursday to Monday, so we leave Wednesday," she explained.

I internally smiled. The party was coming together. "Okay, I'll get them now," I said.

I grabbed my keys again and went back out to my car, starting it up.

When I returned, Dad was also home. "Thank you, Austin," he said, as I set the bag on the table. I nodded my head.

"Where's mom?" I asked. "In the office."
I went past the staircase to the office, seeing her on the computer.

"I left them on the table," I said, taking out the change. "You can keep it," she said. "The change. I'll give you some more so you can do what you need to do when we're out."

"Are you sure?" I asked. "I'm sure."

I turned as a smile formed on my lips. Everything was coming together.

A/N- don't do drugs. It's not cool. Don't do them. It's for the purpose of the book. Dont do drugs. Thanks.
