Jessica

I still haven't talked to Dad much since seeing the camera footage. He was still clueless, paid absolutely no mind to it.

What he did do, though, was continue drinking.

Mom started coming home past dinner, making us get takeout basically everyday. I was sick of it.

Today though, she came home early, exhausted from work.

I allowed her some time to rest, before walking to her room.

"Mom, are you cooking tonight?" I asked. "Noah already ordered pizza, I'm really tired," she said. I nodded, walking out of the room.

I was so insanely sick of pizza, I felt like I've been living off of it for the past few days.

I looked through the pantry only to see that there was nothing more to eat. We had snacks here and there, but nothing dinner worthy.

Deciding not to eat pizza, I grabbed a microwaveable cup of Mac and cheese, and warmed it up. It was the better alternative.

"Jess, I ordered pizza," Noah said, walking into the kitchen. "I know, but I can't have anymore of it," I said.

He leaned his back against the fridge.

"I heard you got called to the principals office," he said. I glared at him. "How did you know?" I asked. "I didn't, until now," he smirked.

He played me. He played me good.

"Asshole," I rolled my eyes. "Thanks. What happened?" He questioned.

I leaned my arms on the kitchen island, mixing the macaroni around the bowl.

"You know what happened at the party?" I started. "I know what Mom told me. But I wanna hear it from you, what happened?" He asked.

I sighed and started explaining everything to him. The party- the true version, the arrest, Kayla, the video, all of it.

"Why do you get yourself in so much drama?" He asked, not knowing what else to say to the story. "You say that like it's a choice," I sighed.

He came over and softly gave me a side-hug.

"It's high school crap, trust me, you'll laugh at it in a few years," he assured me. "That's the most adult thing you've ever said," I took a bite of the Mac and cheese. "Made you sound like Dad," I added.

He shook his head immediately, making me let out a soft laugh.

"Don't worry, the Saturday detentions I have will give me plenty of time to think of more s-" I cut myself off in realization.

"Damn it," I whispered. "What?" Noah asked.

I quickly looked at the calendar. Austin and I had roughly a week to gather people and choreograph something to open up the assembly. It completely slipped both our minds.

"God," I sighed, putting my head in the palm of my hands. "When the principal gave us detention he also told us to open up he assembly next week with a routine," I said. "And?" Noah asked.

"I've been grounded, and haven't been able to make one with him," I sassily spoke, glaring at him.

He laughed and shook his head, walking to the door once the bell rang. "Good luck with it," he said.

I sat on the couch in defeat, watching TV with Nite by my side. Austin and I couldn't even contact each other at this point. I could've called his house but there was no point, since we couldn't even see each other, either.

We only had a couple days to do this. With all the drama floating around school, it would make things even harder.

Not to mention that Kayla was already off limits to be part of it. She hated my guts and I was still a little angry after today. She didn't even bother to sympathize with me, and it really sucked. I covered for her like many times. She had every right to be angry at me, but she could've at least understood where I was coming from. It would've made me feel at least a little bit better between everything going on.
