Austin
My body woke up but my eyes remained closed. I felt the weight of Jessica's body on my arm.
I turned over and pulled her closer. She slightly shifted her body, telling me she woke up.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" She mumbled. "I don't even remember coming upstairs," I said.
She let out a soft laugh, her breath hitting my neck. "Glad I'm not alone."
I smiled and finally opened my eyes. My vision was blurry and my eyes stung.
"Holy fuck," I sat up, rubbing my eyes. "What- oh my gosh," Jess said. By the movement on the mattress I assumed she noticed the same thing.
"Damn," I sighed, opening my eyes again. The stinging had remained but my vision cleared up.
"Did you feel half blind too?" I asked, turning to Jess. She nodded her head. "I did."
She had on the shirt she wore to the party, helping me remember how gorgeous she looked.
"So far, the only thing I remember is how beautiful you looked," I said, softly kissing her lips.
"Yeah well, take a look in the mirror and try to remember more," she smiled, turning to stand up.
I slipped on a pair of jeans and stood up, walking to my dresser.
"Oh wow."
Her lipstick was smeared sloppily around my lips, and there were various bruises from my neck to my chest.
"My head hurts like hell," Jess complained, standing next to me.
"Mine too. I'll get ready. We need a bite before we take anything," I said. She nodded her head.
We both went into bathrooms and freshened up as much as we could. When I finished, I went back to my room and changed my clothes, fixing my hair as best as I could.
"Holy crap," I heard Jess' voice downstairs. "What happened?" I asked.
Making my way downstairs, I slowed down as the rest of the house came into view.
Cups were everywhere on the ground. Drinks were spilled on the furniture and food was scattered everywhere.
Nothing was in place, and everything was a mess.
"Oh no," I sighed, realizing the backyard might be trashed.
Sure enough, I was right. Solo cups floated in the pool and hot tub. Bubbles were still overflowing, out of the hot tub and onto the concrete.
The lounge chairs were flipped and one was even in the pool.
"I'll check the front," Jess said.
I followed her there, seeing that it wasn't as bad since there was nothing to ruin.
I mentally thanked myself for locking the doors to my parents' office and the studio.
"I don't even want to go downstairs," I sighed, going anyway.
This had to be the least messy. Besides cups and snacks all over the place, nothing was displaced.
"Remind me again to never throw a party at my house," I told Jess, feeling her hand rest on my shoulder.
"Look," she turned me to face her.
"Let's grab something to eat, take something for our headaches, and then we can clean this up, okay?"
I nodded my head as her hand fell into mine.
"Give me a minute," she said, going back upstairs.
She came down after a few minutes, wearing one of my blue hoodies, her glasses, and fixed up hair and makeup.
"Is that my hoodie?" I asked, reaching for her hand. "Our hoodie? Yes," she smiled.
I chuckled and kissed her head. "Alright then."
We went out to my car and grabbed something not too heavy to eat, and then went to Target in search of cleaning supplies.
We grabbed trash bags, gloves, stain remover, air freshener and so much more. It made me hate the idea of throwing the party at all.
When we got home, I searched the bathroom for painkillers, finally finding them.
"Babe," I called, approaching her. She quickly put her finger to her lips and shushed me, as she put her phone to her ear.
"No.. yeah.. I'm fine.. getting something to eat... Okay.. love you, bye."
"It was my Dad," she sighed. "Is everything okay?" I asked. "Yeah, he just wanted to know if I was," she nodded.
After taking the pills, we began our hour(s) long journey of cleaning the mess my house had turned into.
