Jessica

Hours passed but we were still in the living room, watching movies and eating snacks. But, Nikki, Lily and I took away time to do our makeup and make ourselves more presentable.

"Do you guys want hot chocolate?" I asked Nikki and Lily. "Yeah," they nodded.

I stood up, setting my phone on the table before making my way to the kitchen.

Making the cups of hot chocolate, I carefully held all three, bringing them back to the couch.

"Thank you," Nikki said, taking hers. Lily also said the same thing as she took hers.

A few minutes had passed of the three of us drifting into our own conversation, and then back to the family's conversation.

I was in the middle of hearing a story, until Tim shot a Nerf bullet at me randomly, hitting me in the chest.

For some reason, everybody noticed it happen, and laughed hysterically, the grown ups laughing longer.

"Jess," Nikki nudged me. I turned to her, who pointed at Lily who was holding my phone up.

Austin's contact appeared on my screen, as a call came through. "Thank you," I said, grabbing my phone.

"Hello?" I answered, as soon as I got away from everyone else. "Hey, did you get my texts?" He asked.

"Hang on."

Austin
Of course

Austin
In ten?

I received the text almost ten minutes ago, explaining his call.

"I just read them," I said. "Is now okay?" He asked. "Yeah, I'll be on my way."

I jogged upstairs and put on a white hoodie and black pants, slipping on my UGGs as well. Grabbing Austin's gift, I quietly went downstairs.

I knew that I wouldn't be able to get out of the house for no reason, so I quickly thought of one.

Going back downstairs, I found Coal and attached a leash to his collar. I caught Lily and Nikki's attention, motioning to them that I was going out, but to say that I was walking Coal.

They nodded their heads subtly, turning back to the family's conversation.

Finally ready, I grabbed the gift and held Coal's leash, heading out through the back door.

I walked about a block before I saw Austin come into view. A smile plastered on my lips, seeing him inch closer.

I was about to walk more, but he signalled for me to wait where I was. So, I did. Attaching Coal's leash to a random pole, I waited as Austin got close enough.

"Merry Christmas," I said with a smile, throwing my arms around his neck. "Merry Christmas," he chuckled, placing his around my waist.

We pulled away from the hug as I gently cupped his face, bringing our lips together.

"Here," I handed him his wrapped gift.

He tore open the wrapping paper. Luckily, there was a public trash can on the corner of the block we were on.

"Damn, this is amazing," he said with admiration. It was a framed drawing of the two of us, done by a professional artist. It took a while for me to plan it out and have it ready, but I luckily did it on time.

"Do you like it?" I asked. "I love it," he smiled, looking at each precise detail drawn.

"Your turn," he smiled, handing me a rectangular box.

I opened it up to reveal a blue box. Opening the box, it was a beautiful Infiniti necklace.

"It's so pretty," I smiled, taking it out of the box.

"Let me," Austin softly said, taking it from my hand.

I turned around and held up my hair, as he placed the beautiful item around my neck.

"Thank you, Austin," I smiled, feeling his chest against my back, as he wrapped his arms around me.

Kissing my cheek softly, he let go. "I love you," he said, joining our lips once more. "I love you too."

We stayed around for a few more minutes, but eventually had to part. Going our separate ways, I returned home to see it the same way I left.

I took Coal off of his leash and took off my boots, sitting next to Lily and Nikki again.

They both immediately turned to me, noticing the necklace instantly.

"How freaking adorable," Nikki smiled. "He's a good one," Lily approved.
