"Are you alright?" Austin asked, a few minutes into the car ride. I closed my eyes and nodded my head, gulping.

"Babe, are you sure?" He rested his hand on top of mine. "Yeah, I'm just a little dizzy," I explained.

"Are you gonna be alright?" He asked. "Yeah," I nodded.

Keeping my eyes closed for the rest of the ride, my nausea only got worse. Austin softly shook me when the car came to a stop, and walked into the crowded building with me.

"I need to go to the bathroom," I quickly said, dipping down the hall and into the bathroom.

Rushing to a stall, I dropped my bag and threw my head over the toilet, as all the contents of my stomach emptied out.

I sat there for minutes, until I felt safe of leaving. The worst part was that I couldn't even go home, because I had two exams and a lab to do.

I wiped my mouth and put a popped a piece of gum, before leaving the bathroom.

"Do you want me to drive you home?" I turned, to see Austin push himself off of the wall.

"No, I'll be fine," I shook my head. "Jess-" "I'm alright, I probably just ate something weird," I told him.

The bell rang, and everyone shuffled to their classes.

"I'll see you in a bit," I told Austin.

Austin

Lunch rolled around, and Jessica was already sitting at our table.

"How are you feeling?" I asked. Sitting across from her. "A lot better," she said.

I nodded my head, and relaxed. I was worried that she was getting sick or something, but like she said, it was probably something she ate.

"How did your project go?" I asked her and Kyle. "Good, I hope," Kyle said. I wasn't sure why, but he seemed anxious. And Jess was staring at him in a way that encouraged him to feel that way.

"Hey," Kayla joined our table. "Sup hoe," Jess smiled. "How rude," Kyle spoke with sarcasm.

"Are we hanging out after school today?" I asked the three. "We should," Kayla mentioned. "Yeah," Kyle nodded.

"We can go to my house," I said. "Jess, can you come get food with me?" Kayla asked. The two of them walked towards the vending machine, leaving Kyle and me.

"Bro what the fuck do I do?" Kyle asked, stress in his voice. "What do you want to do?" I asked.

"I don't know," he said. "Just go for it. How about this," I began. "We have next period together, just let me know what you want Jess and me to do, and I'll make sure we do it. Just make sure it'll help you," I suggested.

He nodded. "But what do I do anyway?" He asked. "You do what you think you should do, it'll be fine."

After school, we arrived at my house. We all went to the basement since that's where I usually hung out with my friends.

"Last time I was here, there was beer pong," Kyle said. "Yeah, and that was the last time you'll see it here," I said.

I tossed a Bluetooth speaker onto the couch beside Kyle. "Play something," I said.

"I'll be back in a second, I'm gonna get snacks," I said. Jess looked up, following me. "I'll help."

We walked upstairs in silence until we reached the pantry.

"Do you think we were obvious?" I laughed. "We're fine," she smiled. "Grab whatever you want," I told her, getting the things from the higher shelf.

With piles of food in our arms, we went back to the basement and dropped them on the table, along with drinks from the cooler.

While continuing a conversation, we were all simultaneously on our phones. "Bro there's a new update on Fortnite, did you get it?" Kyle asked.

"I will now," I said, starting up the game.

"You're on it now, too?" Kayla asked me, making Jess and Kyle laugh. "As of last night," I nodded.

Kyle and I got lost in the game, while Jess and Kayla continued talking.

Eventually, though, the sky began getting darker and darker. It was pitch black, but not that late.

"I need to get going," Kayla stood up. "It's almost past my curfew," she added. "Do you want a ride?" I asked. "No, it's fine," she shook her head.

We all walked upstairs, individually hugging her until she walked out of the door. While she was hugging me, Jess shoved Kyle. "Ow," he whispered. "Go!" She mouthed.

Kyle hesitated, but stopped her as she walked onto the porch. "Wait," he said, grabbing her arm.

He stood in front of her, and pressed his lips against hers quickly.

"Finally," I cheered. Jess and I were both smiling, awkwardly stepping back.

Suddenly though, Kayla pushed Kyle back. He was still smiling, but she wasn't. She looked at us.. terrified. Before any of us could speak, she began taking steps away.

"I'm sorry," she quickly said, before jogging down the porch, and walking fast.

Kyle stood there clueless, watching her walk away, until Jess ran after her.

"Bro.."

Jessica

"Kayla!" I called. She ignored me, continuing to walk. "Kay!" I called again, finally stopping in front of her.

She turned her head, wiping her eyes.

"What happened?" I asked, putting my hands around her arms.

She collapsed into my arms, hugging me tightly. I hugged her back, waiting for her to speak, but getting nothing.

I heard nothing but her soft sniffles for seconds, until she pulled away.

"What happened, Kayla?" I softly asked. "Jess, I-" she cut herself off.

"Do you not like him?" I asked. "No, I do," she began. "Not like that," she corrected herself, before sighing.

"Jess," she began, looking at me, still crying.

"I'm gay."

A/N: so I realized that I have an issue with making relationships happen too easy, so I did this and hopefully you guys will enjoy what I have planned. I also wanted to add a character part of the LGBT+ community because (clearly) I write romance stories, and romance doesn't only exist between men and women. Love doesn't have a gender, please remember that :)
