Jessica
Once I got inside, I saw that dinner was over. Mom and my aunt's were in the kitchen drinking tea, or something, and nobody else was to be seen on the main floor.
I put my hand up to tell my mom I was home, without actually having to say anything. She nodded her head, as I went upstairs.
Lily and Nikki were already in my room, thankfully. "Where'd you go?" Lily asked. "We got pizza, that's it," I sighed.
"Jess, why exactly doesn't your dad like Austin?" Nikki asked. The question itself made my blood boil.
"You know, I'd love to tell you," I turned to her. "Once I find out for myself," I added, angrily approaching my dresser, and beginning to take off my makeup.
"There has to be a reason that you know of," Lily mentioned. "Austin's gotten into trouble. But the story my dad knows, is that he was suspended for three days, which isn't even true," I explained.
"Why's it not true?" Lily asked. "Because he was framed over messing with someone's locker," I said. "Shit story that doesn't make sense, and isn't even true, but for some reason, my dad has an attachment to it."
"You'll rub your skin off if you go any harder," Nikki mentioned, making me realize how I was expressing the anger inside of me. It didn't matter though, because I was done anyway. I cleaned up, and collapsed next to Nikki.
"I just want to sleep until I'm 18. Then nobody can stop me from anything," I said, my voice muffled as it drowned in the pillow. "That's a big ass lie when it comes to parents," Nikki laughed.
"She's right," Lily agreed. "Let me enjoy the thought of freedom," I sighed.
In a few seconds, a knock on my door caused me to mentally groan. "Who is it?" I asked. "Uncle John," I heard his voice. "Can you come out for a minute?"
I groaned, physically, this time, forcing myself up and out of the door. "Yes?" I asked. "I think Austin's a nice boy, Jessica," he told me. "Can you make Dad understand that?" I asked, leaning my head against the wall.
"I can try," he said. "Good luck," I said, knowing how impossible it would be. He chuckled, before continuing. "I just wanted to tell you that," he said. I nodded my head, giving him a small smile. "Thank you."

♡I put my phone down and forced myself out of bed. My house was back to normal. My parents were home and so were Caleb and Becca.
School and work were the only things on our schedule, once they started up again.
I went to the bathroom and took a shower, properly waking myself up for the day.
Going downstairs, mom was already making breakfast. You could smell it in the air. Bacon, eggs, and.. something else.
"Morning," I sighed, taking a seat. "Almost ready," mom told me. Rebecca's footsteps came down the stairs, her coming into the kitchen as well.
Seeing that she was on her phone, I grabbed it from her hands just as she walked past me.
"Wha- Austin," she complained, reaching up for it as I held it above her height. "What's wrong?" I teased.
"Whoop," Caleb sounded from behind me, taking her phone out of my hand, and mine from the table.
He handed Rebecca's back to her, and waved mine in the air. "Wow, asshole," I sarcastically said. Mom immediately turned around, staring me down. "Language, Austin."
I put my hands up, hearing Becca and Caleb snicker at me.
He finally gave me back my phone, when Dad joined the table.
I quieted myself down, and began eating. It wasn't that Dad and I didn't get along, we just didn't have a strong relationship.
He thinks one way and I think another. It causes a lot of problems so the less we talk about our personal lives, the better, basically.
"How's your drawing coming along?" Dad asked Becca. "You started another one?" I asked. She nodded her head. "It's taking time, but it's coming along."
Mom finally sat down with us, allowing us to fully commence our breakfast.
"Mom, dad," I called, gaining their attention. "Can I go to a party tonight?"
Rebecca gasped at my question. "Can I go?" She asked. "No," I quickly said. She shrugged, knowing I would easily say no.
Dad laughed at my question, but Mom didn't. "I'm fine with it," she said. Dad looked at her as if she betrayed him. She shot back another stare, sticking to her word.
Dad finally looked at me and nodded his head. "Just.. be careful."
