Jessica

I woke up with actual motivation to get out of bed today. Austin finally came home. After taking a quick shower, I blow dried my hair, before starting my makeup. I did my usual routine, before deciding to curl my hair, not to impress Austin, but.. to impress Austin.

I woke up earlier than necessary, so I had enough time to grab something for breakfast. With my phone, I went downstairs and poured myself a bowl of cereal, before texting Austin.

Me
Gooooood morniiiing

Me
Tell me you're awake

I smiled typing each text. Just remembering the feelings of his arms around me, and the way he kissed me brought me joy. A week is barely anything, but it hit hard.

When I didn't get a response, I continued doing my thing for a little bit. But once I realized it was time to go, and I still didn't get a response, I wrote another text.

Me
Aus??

I walked out to the car, and when I sat down, felt relief as I saw a text from him.

Austin
I'm so sorry, I'm overslept. I'm gonna be late. Go without me, I'll see you at school

Me
Oh okay

Me
See u there

Sighing, my smile faded. I got really excited to see him.

Driving to school, I fixed my mood slightly by listening to music. Still though, Austin was the one person I needed to see to put me at 100.

I walked to my locker and kept an eye out for Austin, but still didn't see him.

"Where's Austin?" Kyle cane beside me. "He's late," I shrugged. "That bitch," he sighed. I softly smiled, shaking my head.

"I'll see you soon," he said, walking to his class. After about a minute, the bell rang, and I still saw no sign of Austin. Grabbing my things, I made my way to class.

What made things even worse was that Austin and I didn't have any classes together today. I knew he wasn't going to be in the lunchroom either, so he could catch up on work. But in conclusion, I'd have to wait until the end of the school day before seeing him.

So I did exactly that.

I didn't even see him in the halls during the day. But as I walked to my last period class, I vaguely saw his figure. His eyes were already on me, and I could see a smile on his lips as I noticed him.

I shut my locker and started walking towards him, but stopped as soon as the principal stopped in front of him. His smile instantly disappeared, and his direction changed, as he walked with Mr. P.

Sighing, I went my way to class. Halfway through the boring ass period, I slyly pulled out my phone, texting Austin.

Me
I hate you

Austin
Yeah well you're gonna hate me even more

Me
u weren't supposed to say that

Austin
I fucking got detention

Me
Are you serious

Me
Why?!

Austin
Because I came in late and tried getting away w it

Me
I just wanna see you ffs

Austin
I'll come over after, okay?

Me
Okay

Austin
I love you

Me
I love you too

Putting my stupid phone down, I picked up my stupid pen and opened my stupid book, beginning to do the stupid work for this stupid class.

"What're you doing today?" Kyle appeared beside me, as I shut my locker. "Well I would be with Austin right now, but he's in detention," I said. "So nothing?" He asked.

"I mean he's coming over after. And we have dance today," I said. "Why what's up?" He asked. "Nah I was just checking in. I'll see you tomorrow," he said, before walking away.

Weird.

Dad and Mom were at work, so I was home alone with Nite until Noah came home. Going up to my room, I laid in bed and scrolled through my phone, waiting for the next hour to pass by.

And then, it finally did.

DingDong

My ears perked up immediately and a smile formed on my face. Not getting my hopes up just in case, I went downstairs at my normal pace. But once I saw Austin through the glass, I picked up the pace.

Flinging the door open, all I saw was his wide smile, before I threw my arms around him.

"Hi," he laughed softly, hugging me tightly. "I should've seen you hours ago," I complained, closing my eyes as my head rested against him. "I know, I'm sorry," he kissed my head. Instant relief flooded through me.

"How was detention?" I asked, still not letting go.

"Boring, you should know," he teased. "Fuck off," I smiled, shaking my head.

Pulling away, I looked up at him again, before walking backwards into the house.

"You got so tan," I mentioned, putting my hand on the side of his face. "I know, I needed it," he smiled.

"Tell me about the trip," I said. "I will. We have a lot to catch up on," he pulled me closer again, before slowly pressing his lips against mine.

I couldn't help but smile, bringing my other hand to his neck, as well.

After a few seconds, I tried to pull away, but he resisted, continuing to kiss me.

Without any complains, I went with it. I craved this feeling over the week, we deserved to have this moment.

But, we pulled apart as soon as Nite ran up from the basement.

"Woah, hey," Austin smiled, bending down to pick him up. Nite's tail wagged quickly, as he attacked Austin with kisses.

"Me too Nite, me too," I nodded, softly petting him.

"Are you hungry?" I asked, pecking Austin's lips again. "I was waiting for you," he said, setting Nite down.

"Follow along," I spoke with an accent, lifting my hand in the air as I walked towards the pantry.

We talked for a little bit upstairs in my room, knowing we had a few hours to kill before dance.

It led to what it usually did. Me cuddled up against Austin, kissing him occasionally, and watching Netflix. And then it got even more normal, when we both slowly started to fall asleep.

"I'm gonna pass out," he said, leaning his forehead on top of my head. "Me too, let's do it." I closed my laptop, before turning on my side. Throwing my arm over his torso, I felt him press a kiss against my head.

"Are we gonna wake up in time for dance?" He asked, as I closed my eyes. "I have an alarm," I nodded. "Okay," he agreed.

"I love you babe," he added, making me smile. Hearing those words in person, again, had a completely different effect on me than it did over the phone.

"I love you."
