"It's so early," I complained, squinting my eyes as Mom shook me awake. "We need to be there two hours early. Come on, breakfast is ready," she said.
I groaned and looked out the window. It felt like I was going to school. Grabbing my phone, I looked at the time.
7:37
Sighing, I sat up and rubbed my eyes open. "I got bathroom!" I heard Caleb yell, as he ran down the hall.
Getting up, I walked downstairs to the other bathroom. Turning the knob, it wouldn't open.
"I'm in here!" Becca's voice echoed.
I groaned, annoyed, before trudging downstairs. The scary bathroom. It was small and the pipes always made weird noises. It was the least favorite of the family.
After taking a quick shower, I went back upstairs, meeting everybody for breakfast.
"You all have everything packed?" Dad asked. I nodded, along with Becca and Caleb who hummed in response.
After we finished eating and packed last minute things, we made our way to the airport. In the car, I pulled out my phone, texting Jess.

OkayI plugged my earbuds into my phone, and turned on my music. Leaning my head back, I closed my eyes, and waited out the ride.
Dad was sorting through emails and texts the entire car ride, and everyone else was doing their own thing.
By the time we got to the airport, my mood was dropping. I was so tired, and just wanted to sleep. But we had to wait another hour and a half before boarding the plane.
After checking through security, we sent our luggage off and waited for our flight to be called.
Jessica
"When is he landing?" Kayla asked. "I'm not sure, but he's gonna text me," I shrugged, as we walked into the gym.
"Pacer test today!" Coach blew the whistle. Groans filled the entire room, as people organized themselves on one side of the gym.
"On your mark, get ready, start."
We slowly ran across the gym, waiting for the next beep.
After a few minutes, I already felt myself giving out. We were on the 25th lap, but I knew I could keep going for a little while.
About half of the people had already given out, but those still standing were slowly struggling, too.
At 30 laps, Kayla gave out. I kept going, but at 32 laps, I missed the line, and disqualified myself.
I put my hands on my knees and panted for my breath, as the Coach walked to my side.
"How many?" He asked. "31," I panted. He nodded, writing it down. "Go get some water," he quickly said, walking away.
I walked to the short line at the water fountain, still catching my breath. Afterwards, I sat on the bleachers and waited out the rest of the class.
Later that day, when I got home, Dad was, too. "Hey," I smiled. "How was school?" He asked. "Good," I nodded.
For some reason, we could hardly communicate anymore. It didn't feel as natural as it used to. Everything was just small talk, now.
"Are Mom and Noah home?" I asked. "Noah's still at school," he answered, then stayed quiet.
I was going to ask about Mom again, but I realized that he didn't answer for a reason.
"I'm gonna go to homework," I said, excusing myself upstairs.
As I walked up, I heard him sigh as he shuffled papers. Just when I thought things were getting better, I was told otherwise.
I took a warm shower, which somewhat helped me clear my mind. After doing that, I walked to my room and opened my books, sitting at my desk.
Before starting my work, I picked up my phone, seeing a few texts from Austin.

"Mom, when are we getting food?" Becca complained, flopping face front onto one of the beds. "In a little while," Mom said. "I'm hungry," Becca complained. "Me too," I agreed.
Mom sighed. "When your dad finishes his meeting, we'll go get something," she told us.
"Where's Caleb?" I asked. "He went to the lobby for something," she said.
I shook my head, mentally smiling. "Going to the lobby" in Caleb's world, was always code for talking to a cute girl.
"Can you wake me up when we're gonna get food?" I asked Becca. "Yeah," she nodded.
I put my earbuds in and played music, before laying down in bed. Closing my eyes, I slowly drifted off to sleep.
