Austin
Jess wasn't answering my calls in the morning, so I assumed she wasn't going to school. I drove to her house just in case, and still had no sign of her.
I was still extremely hurt by what she had said, but she had every right to feel that way. I do, too. When I look at Jess, I notice how gorgeous she is. I pay attention to all the details and knowing that our son or daughter would've looked like her.. it did hurt.
I was keeping it in, this time, though. That usually never happened.

I slept through most of my alarms, and woke up only when Noah shook me awake.
"Why are you still home?" He asked. He knew I wasn't sick or anything, so I couldn't even lie.
"You're an hour late," he said. I shot up, grabbing my phone. I threw on a random outfit and ran to the bathroom, not even bothering to make myself look half-presentable.
"Jess!" Noah called. I walked towards my room, seeing him still standing there. "Are you high?" He asked.
That's when I realized, I truly fucked up. I left the pen on the bedside table, completely forgetting about it.
"No," I said. I reached for it, but he pulled his arm back. "Are you serious?" He laughed in frustration. "Noah, just give it back," I said.
"Go to school," he said, his expression now solemn. There was no way I was getting that back.
I sighed, knowing I'd have to deal with it later, before rushing out the door. I got into my car, and drove fairly fast. Regardless, I was late, anyway.
Walking towards my locker, I looked at my phone, seeing the missed notifications from Austin.

Missed Call (4)I sighed, putting it away. The guilt of what I said to him was killing me. I meant it, but it wasn't his fault. I felt so bad for going off in the way I did.
I knew I needed to apologize, but I couldn't. The whole day, I didn't see him. Well, I did, but nowhere I could approach him. I wasn't even sure if he knew I was here.
Finally though, at the end of the day, when I was finished at my locker, I ran towards his. He was talking to a few of his friends so I waited for them to leave, and when they did, I walked towards him. He was on his phone, making it easier for me to get to him before he could leave.
"I'm sorry," I immediately said, throwing my arms around him. He put his arms around me, but I could feel that it was loose.
I knew why, too. He was still mad, clearly, but he didn't want to embarrass me in the halls.
"Jess," he softly said. I pried myself off of him, only to see him still with a blank expression.
"Let me talk to you," I gently said, looking into his eyes. "Not n-" "Please," I cut him off.
He gave in, nodding his head. We walked down towards another hallway, where no students were by this time.
"I'm sorry, Austin," I flat out said. I wasn't sure what else there was to be said. "It's fine," he shook his head, ready to walk away.
"It's not," I stopped him, pressing my hand against his chest. "I shouldn't have gone off on you like that," I added.
He stayed silent for a few seconds. "You're right, Jess," he shrugged. "You shouldn't have, because the same thing happens to me. I see you and think of the same thing. I know how you feel, and every time I try to help you through it, all you do is ignore me, and push me away," he ranted.
I took a slight step back, only then realizing the reality of my actions. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out.
"Just forget it, it doesn't matter," he shook his head, walking away. Even if I could've, stopping him wouldn't have made a difference. I fucked up worse than I thought, and he finally made it clear to me. I couldn't expect any more from what he was already doing.
