"Don't go too far, love!" Bella called to her young daughter as the little girl went out the front door to play in the yard. While the house was fenced off, she was always so worried. She's only been in America two years with her daughter and husband since they moved from the UK to avoid issues they were having with certain people.
"I won't!" Rebecka called back to her mother as the seven-year-old skipped down the stone walkway from her door to the yard.
She literally hopped into her sandbox, scattering sand around her shoes. As she knelt down to pick up the shovel, she stopped and stood in silence. She could hear crying. But there was no one around. "Hello?" Rebecka called softly, a little scared. Maybe it was a ghost!
There was no answer, but the crying continued. Whatever it was, it sounded sad.
Getting out of her sandbox, she very slowly followed the sound. As she seemed to get closer, the crying only got a little louder. It was still very quiet. She followed the sound until she stood at one of her mom's pruned shrubberies. Rebecka knew how much time her mom put into the garden.
Getting down on her hands and knees, she peeked into the bush and spotted a brown...wait. The brown was a shirt! And in that shirt, was a tiny boy! In a moment, her hand was curled around the boy as gentle as could be. "Why are you sad?" Rebecka asked quietly, only to yelp when they boy began screaming and flailing.
"L-Let me go! Let me go!" The small boy screamed, startling Rebecka.
She dropped the miniature kid into the grass, backing away with wide eyes. "Wh-What are you?" She whimpered out, her big hazel eyes watching him silently.
Slowly, his small head turned. Andy watched the giant girl before him with blurry vision. But she looked...scared of him? Scared of him? Why would she be afraid of him, when she's so much bigger? "I-I'm a human. W-Well I was, but then my mommy and daddy shrinked me and left me outside."
"Your mommy and daddy did?" Rebecka asked with a frown, her heart screaming at her to do something. She couldn't leave the boy that looked her age, maybe a little smaller out here. "Can I pick you up? I can take you in, my mommy's very nice! She can get you a bath, a-and you'll be safe! Please?" But Rebecka didn't want to wait for an answer. Before she could give him a chance to answer, her fingers had already curled around the tiny boy and she was even already hurrying back inside the house.
Andy's words caught in his throat as a giant hand once again wrapped around him. The world blurred more than it already was, and he heard a door slam.
"Mommy! Mommy, I found a tiny boy! His mommy and daddy threw him out, can we keep him?!" Rebecka called throughout the house with a wide grin plastered on her face.
"Becka sweetie, what're you going on...about." Bella's eyes landed on the little boy in her daughter's hand, and her eyes widened. Whatever her daughter said, it wasn't a lie. The poor thing looked so beat up, and dirty. "Becka, please give him to me and go get a washcloth. Run it in warm water, and get my sewing kit."
Andy stared up at the new giant woman, trembling as he was passed from one gentle hand to another. "D-Don't hurt me, please." He whimpered out.
"I'm not going to, it's alright. We're going to take care of you. I'm Bella, that was Rebecka. Do you have a name sweetheart?" Bella cupped her fingers to keep the little boy from falling, carrying him to the bathroom where Becka was still trying to get a rag.
"I-I'm Andy." He whispered, watching the giantess's in front of him hurrying to what he can only guess is take care of him.
"That's a nice name!" Rebecka piped up, skipping over and smiling widely down at Andy. "When mommy and daddy are busy, I'll take care of you! You can be my friend, and have my mommy and daddy too!"
Andy couldn't help the slight smile that began to make its way onto his face. "R-Really?" The five-year-old asked hesitantly, his eyes locked onto the girl that was only a little older than him.
"Mhm! And we can play hide and seek, you'd be really good at it!"
"I-I think I'd like that." Andy managed to mumble out. And it was true. He never had a big sister before. And his old mommy and daddy were really mean to him. This mommy seems nice. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around Bella's finger, placing his tiny head on the tips of her fingers. "Thank you." He whispered.
Bella and Rebecka looked at each other, then looked back at Andy, both of them smiling. "You're welcome," Bella whispered, then turned back to preparing what she needed to get the new little boy cleaned up.
