'A Little Hope' is another one of my stories. This doesn't really have spoilers, I'm just shamelessly advertising.

"Terrance? Terrance, come on where are you?" Jenna called softly, peering under her bed while she looked for the six inch tall Mini. When she didn't see her little friend, she stood up and crossed her arms with an annoyed huff.

The Mini had earlier that day lost a small trinket Jenna's mother had given to her, and he thought Jenna was angry with him and ran off. She hasn't seen him since then.

With a defeated sigh, the teen took a seat on her bed and took a good look around her bedroom. She finally spotted silver hair poking out from behind her alarm clock. A sense of relief washed over her and she reached out to the tiny being.

As soon as her fingers brushed the top of his little head, he sprung to his feet and lost balance, tumbling over the edge of her nightstand and landed on his back with a painful sounding thud. Her reaction was quick, her hands quickly coming down over him. Her fingers delicately curled around him as he gasped for air, clawing at his throat.

"Whoa, it's okay. You knocked the air outta ya. Calm down." Cupping him in her palms, she sat cross-legged on her bed and used her pointer finger to ruffle his hair.

Terrance took deep breaths, feeling like he couldn't breath was somehow breathing at the same time. His back ached painfully. He was only glad that he had a human like Jenna to take care of him and actually care about him.

When he finally caught his breath, he slowly sat up when something pinched at the back of his shirt. Turning his blue gaze upward, he could see Jenna attempting to lift the back of his shirt. Terrance let out a startled gasp and yanked his shirt, scrambling across the palm to get away from her fingers.

"Terrance, I just want to see how bad your bruises are." Jenna insisted in a calm, gentle tone, not sure why the Mini had started to panic so suddenly.

"No, I-I'm fine! No bruises!" He squeaked out, his voice much higher in pitch as he struggled to try and seem calm.

Worried that they might be worse than she thought and he was just trying to hide them, Jenna used one hand to turn Terrance around and hold him in place. Her fingers carefully pinched his arms so he couldn't yank away again, and using her other hand she gripped the fabric of his shirt and lifted it over his head.

Terrance felt the hand holding him tense as the shirt was lifted off of him despite his squirming and protests, and he knew she could see them.

Jenna stared in disbelief at all the scars Terrance had on his back. Horizontal, diagonal, vertical, any other direction she could think of, there was a scar. They were so visible on his pale skin. The bruises weren't too bad, but now she was more focused on the scars than anything. "Terrance?" She whispered breathily, her heart aching for the tiny being.

He felt her warm breath wash over his back, and couldn't fight the tears that started to well in his eyes. Images of past events flooding into his mind's eye, forcing him to remember every event, every painful thing. She could pick any of those scars and he could describe in full detail how it got there.

When the Mini was silent, Jenna's worry only grew. She pressed him against her stomach, curling up to sort of give him a hug the best she could offer. "You poor little thing. I'm so sorry, I-I didn't think this was why you wanted to keep your shirt on." Gently, Jenna pressed the tip of her nose into her tiny boyfriend's bare chest, nuzzling him. Before she closed her eyes, she could see the tiny tears starting to drip down his face.

Terrance wrapped his arms as tight as he could around the finger closest to him, his small body shaking as he harshly sobbed against Jenna. "D-Don't wanna talk about it!"

"Okay, okay, you don't have to." Jenna held him as close and firmly as she could without hurting him, her thumb rubbing his back as delicately as possible so she wouldn't harm his bruises either.

So she sat like this, promising him and herself that she'd never let anything happen to this little being again. Not as long as she was alive would anything or anyone hurt him.
