Cadence stared at her computer screen, her stomach filling with butterflies as she reread the messages over and over again. For two years now she had been chatting and video chatting with a boy her age named Henry. But that wasn't why she was nervous. He was a human, she was a giantess. The human cities were separated from the giants by an invisible border that only humans could pass through, as to stop giants from rampaging.
But today she was going to that border to meet Henry face to face for the first time and was she was incredibly nervous and excited. Her nervousness was mostly thoughts like 'What if he decides he hates me after seeing how tall I really am to him?' or 'Will he even show up at the border?'
But she was doing her best to ignore those thoughts as she picked up her backpack that held a water bottle and sandwich, and she made her way out of her house and down the sidewalk towards the woods that held the path to the border.
Henry yawned and rubbed his eyes with a soft groan, his hazel orbs looking to his alarm clock before he bolted upright. He was supposed to be ready forty-five minutes ago to go meet Cadence! His own butterflies began to stir, but his thoughts were 'She looked so beautiful on video chat. What am I supposed to say to her?' and 'Will she be mad if I'm late? What if the giantess tries to hurt me?'
He threw on an old pair of jeans and an anime t-shirt. After throwing on his shoes he bolted out the door and ran towards where the human trees ended and the giant trees began.
As he ran, he finally spotted her. Her back to him, her long brown hair falling around her back and shoulders with a giant backpack sitting beside her. She herself was immense too and was utterly terrifying. He can only hope she was just like she seemed for the while they've been talking. "U-Uh, Cadence?!" He called out as he neared the giantess.
Cadene's head turned slightly and a wide smile spread across her face. "Henry? Oh, it's good to see you. I was a little nervous, but a while back you told me you were late to a lot of things, so I came prepared." Her hand rose and she rubbed the back of her neck. "So uh...h-how are you?"
"I-I'm fine, thanks, and you?" He asked awkwardly, shifting as he slowly neared the invisible wall she was leaning against, and that only he could pass through.
"Oh, good, good." Cadence managed a small smile and turned so she was facing him and sitting on her knees. "S-So, are you going to pass through so we can head back to my apartment and watch Book of Atlantic together? I-I got it on DVD."
"No way, really?!" Henry grinned widely, his nervousness dissipating. "Yeah, I'd love to watch it! Just, try not to break me, okay?" He looked up at the giantess before taking a deep breath and passing through the wall. It tingled all over, but he was still in one piece, and now standing at the white sneakers of the giantess.
Cadence smiled. She remembers when she was a child, she was always fascinated with the humans. She'd stand at the border for hours on end, watching the tiny cars and doll sized people wander. At first lots of the humans had been nervous, but after some time she got on a first name basis with a few. Now she had one of these doll sized people standing at her feet, and she was glad to have him as a friend.
Though the slightly nervous feeling returned, Henry could tell by the warm smile on the giantess's face, he had nothing to worry about. Even as her hand lowered, he allowed her warm hand to wrap around him and lift her into her palm so she could carry him, as if he walkd it would take him days to reach her house.
"Hey, Henry?" Her soft voice interrupte his thoughts and he turned his gaze up to her with a curiosu look.
"Yeah Cadence?" He ran a hand through his hair to keep it out of his eyes.
"I'm glad we met on that site...you're probably my closest friend."
A wide smile once again fell onto Henry's face as he looked back up at the brown haired giantess. "Yeah. I feel the same."
