Another idea I quite liked by Sweetikelisa! Hopefully it lives up to your expectations.
"James, did you remember to make sure the sails were down?" A deep voiced, shaggy-headed male asked, hosting an English accent. His silver eyes were scanning the deck of his ship to ensure things were just how they should be.
He was dressed in a black overcoat with silver buttons, black trousers, and a white shirt that had a ruffled collar.
"Sure did Cap." The young Irishman chirped cheerfully, turning to face his superior with a wide grin. He was dressed similarly, only his white shirt had no ruffle in the collar and he wasn't wearing an overcoat. "The wind seems perfect, and the sun is shining. Think we'll find anything interesting today?"
Turning his silver eyes back toward James, Nicholas chuckled. "Do we ever find anything interesting this early in the week? Just go tell the other lads unless everything is perfect, lunch will be delayed."
James gave the captain a firm salute and took off across the ship to where a few others were tying off ropes and keeping a lookout for other ships. "Henry! Louis! How's everything going over here?"
The other two young men turned to look at their crewmate and smiled. Henry spoke up first, his ginger hair hanging in his eyes and his Scottish accent as strong as ever. "Just fine o'er here James. What'd the captain want?"
As James opened his mouth to speak, he was interrupted by Louis, the captain's son who pointed up to the blue sky. "Anybody else seeing that? What's that bird got?"
James and Henry both looked to where Louis pointed, using one hand to shield their eyes from the son. "Huh. Not sure. Probably sticks or...hang on!"
All three young men dashed to the side of the ship as whatever the bird had been holding fell into the calm, cold ocean. "What the...Louis, get the net! Quick!" Henry ordered as he stared at what looked to be a human. A very, very small human.
Once Louis had fetched the net, the three fished out the small being and carefully untangled them from the net.
"Are they moving?"
"It's a girl."
"What the fuck is it?"
Elise cringed in pain, listening to thundering voices around her. She could remember falling from the talons of that bird and landed painfully in freezing water. Where was she? What was going on?
Before she had been caught by that bird, she was at home. She had gone to lean against her mirror, but it gave way like water and she found herself standing in grass blades taller than her. The rest can pretty much explain itself.
When she pried her blue eyes open, she was met with three pairs of large ones staring at her. Three large, albeit attractive young men, hovering above her.
"Hey, it's awake." One with a Scottish accent spoke, and fingers larger than her started to reach out toward her.
Instinct reacted faster than common sense and she flung herself away from the oncoming fingers. Her heart raced a mile a second. Elise panted, trying to find some way to escape the three men.
"Whoa, little lass!" James had reacted faster, his hand curling gingerly around the frightened female. "None of us are gonna hurt ya! Not I can't say the same for yerself, ya coulda just killed yerself flinging around like that."
Elise fought against the powerful fingers, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "L-Let me go, please! I-I just want to go home, I-I don't know...I-I don't know where I am."
The three crew members each shared a look and nodded simultaneously. "Let's take her to my father, he might know what to do with her," Louis spoke up.
Ignoring her desperate pleas, the three headed to the Captain's cabin and didn't bother to knock considering the situation. "Sir, you gotta see this," Louis muttered, his heart aching at how much the small girl was fighting against James.
Elise's eyes landed on the new giant, taking in his clothing. It slowly settled in where she was. It was a huge boat, and judging by this new giant's clothes, they were pirates. She'd read about them in storybooks and watched them on TV back home. They were greedy, they'd most likely sell her off to someone since she seemed to be the only one like her here.
Nicholas lifted a bushy eyebrow and made his way over. When his eyes met Elise's, they widened in shock and disbelief. "She's...human. What is she? Where did you find her? God, James, open your hands you're scaring the poor thing more than she already is."
Elise trembled in the now open palm, both from the sudden cold and fear she felt. Her eyes never left the captain, and she stuttered out the words that were swimming around in her head. "Y-You're a pirate. A-Are you going to hurt me? O-Or maybe you'll sell m-me."
Nicholas's eyes softened and instead of answering, he let out a deep, hearty laugh. "My, I may be a pirate but I'm not heartless. Take a deep breath. Calm down, and tell me your story."
Confused but still wary, Elise slowly began to explain what happened to her. From the mirror to falling into the ocean, to getting apparently fished out by the three boys near her.
"They have good heads on their shoulders. They were quick, and because of that, they may have saved your life. Now, we should-" Nicholas stopped, eyeing the tiny female. He caught sight of blood running down her arms and staining her clothing. She was shivering. "She's injured. Henry, get the bandages. James, gently set her on my desk."
Elise silently listened, watching the large beings do as they were told to do. Once on the desk, she scooted back away from them all, cringing at each movement they would make.
Nicholas knelt down near the desk, the waves splashing loudly against the side of the ship. "Take it easy. We'll take care of you, you're not in any danger here."
Elise was hesitant to believe that statement, but his eyes told her everything she needed to know. "I-I'm Elise by the w-way." She stuttered out, flinching as a large roll of white bandages was set near her.
She couldn't escape the gaze of the four men, but her fear was slowly dissipating. She was able to hold still as the one she guessed was Henry bandaged the wound she received from the bird on her arm. Once that was done, the captain, who'd she yet to hear his name, placed a soft cloth around her shoulders that he had pulled from his pocket.
All of them had knelt down, their eyes watching her curiously, but gently. They asked occasional questions, as did she and they each answered respectfully.
Gripping the fabric around her, she slowly began to warm up. Both from the cold and to the young men and captain.
