Sebastian Michaelis, the butler of the Phantomhive manor, stepped into the dimly lit bedroom ensuring he made little to no noise. The sleeping guest curled up neatly on the plush pillow had quite sensitive hearing.

His crimson eyes flickered over the oddly covered Neko, her purple and lavender ombre hair spread out across her darker-skinned face and the white pillow covering.

Stepping up the red curtains which blocked all but a thin ray of light from entering the room, Sebastian pulled them open and allowed the warm sun to pour in. It filled up the entire room, and he found it was a decent way to awaken Kiki without causing her too much distress.

"Sebastian," came a soft whine from the bed behind him, "do I have to get up now? Can't I sleep just a little bit longer?"

Sebastian's thin lips twitched into a smile and he approached the bed, gazing down at the very small girl. Her eyes were still closed, her tiny body curled into a tight ball, and her tail wrapped neatly around her legs.

Carefully, he stretched a gloved hand out and used a finger to delicately scratch behind her purple ears. He and the Young Master had both grown rather fond of her. His Master far more obviously different since her arrival. "I suppose you could, but then you'd miss breakfast with the young Lord. I'd even gon through the trouble to set up a small chocolate dessert for afterward."

It wasn't surprising when her eyes shot open, those purple iris's gazing up at him at just the mention of the cocoa treat. That, and he knew of the special connection that sparked between the Earl and this little lady. Her tiny head leaned only slightly into his hand, which he adored. She appeared to be part cat, and even if she wasn't, she was quite similar to one. "You did?"

"I did," the butler nodded his head faintly. "Now, get yourself dressed and such and I'll escort you downstairs."

Kiki nodded her small head eagerly and shot to her feet.

Ciel drummed his fingers against the dining room table, his other hand propping up his head. His uncovered blue eye was fixed on the closed doors. Some would call it paranoia, others perhaps may call it impatience, but really, it was just boredom.

He hated this part. The waiting. Sebastian would serve his tea then disappear out of the room to go wake up Kiki. It was always hard to judge how long it would take, there was one time where it took Sebastian twenty minutes to manage to get the hybrid ready and downstairs. By then, the tea was cold and Ciel was frustrated. Then again, that had been one of her first nights here. She had been so afraid of them and would hardly let them touch her.

She had taken to Ciel a lot quicker, most likely due to being around the same age. And Ciel had soon found that her company was far more enjoyable than that of Elizabeth or anyone else that would try and visit him. The young Earl had grown rather attached to her over the months. He'd even gone as far as to order Sebastian to ensure no harm came to her.

As he heard footsteps approaching, Ciel took a finger and pressed it against the side of his teacup before a faint sigh of relief passed his lips. She was getting faster, his tea was still quite warm.

He watched the wooden doors open, Sebastian stepping into the room. One hand was up and cupped, slightly moved against his chest and the other held open the door as he entered. "My Lord, forgive me for the wait," he calmly addressed in his familiar smooth tone.

"It wasn't as long as other times. How is she?" Ciel straightened up in his chair, watching the little purple-haired head peek over Sebastian's fingers to gaze at him.

"You can ask me you know," Kiki said with a soft giggle, waiting patiently as Sebastian's hands lowered to the tabletop, allowing her to step off. "I'm doing great! Sebastian said there was something chocolatey for after breakfast."

"And that's the only reason you were down here on time?" Ciel inquired with a scoff, but he couldn't fight the smile that crept onto his lips. He reached forward, his fingers delicately scratching her ears and stroking her hair. They didn't quite know what kind of animal she was fused with. Sebastian insisted it was a cat, however, she didn't make Ciel sneeze.

Kiki leaned her head into his fingers, her arms stretching up to wrap around his hand in a tight hug. "No, I wanted to see you as well. It's hard when you have meetings or work. You hardly come to see me anymore, and you're always too busy for me to come and see you."

The Earl's blue iris darted off to the side, his hand that still rested on his lap balling around his clothing. "I know. I'm sorry, Kiki. But I am a Lord, I have my responsibilities. Those include ensuring my company remains intact and that I keep up my reputation with her Majesty. Things that are important."

Kiki paused, her head lifting to gaze at him. Her lower lip began to quiver, the color starting to fade from her hair. "S-So...I'm not important to you?"

Ciel's lips quickly twisted into a frown. He knew what that meant, she was hurt. Anytime the color began to turn gray it was when something was wrong. "No, no, I didn't mean it like that at all! You are important to me, very important and-" he had to cast a glare in Sebastian's direction who was almost silently chuckling off to the side. "-I simply meant that they are important to what I am. Not to me."

The color returned right back to its usual lavender and Kiki's face lit up in relief and joy. "Oh, thank goodness!"

And so, the two of them sat at the table while Sebastian served Kiki and Ciel breakfast and fresh tea, the animal hybrid and young Lord simply enjoying each others company. The two would share glances, smiles, even occasional chuckles.

Sebastian would watch from the sidelines, a faint smirk on his lips. Love is a perfect spice to add to his soon-to-be meal. So naturally, he'd let this play out.
