Trina laid out on the large pillow she used as a bed, watching the older Winchester's sleeping face with a curious expression. His sleep seemed anything but peaceful. His body would twitch violently at times and his face would contort in pain. The Mark was really taking a toll on him.

Wanting to get him out of whatever nightmare he was having, Trina crawled across her pillow to where Dean's face was. She pressed her hand on the warm skin, feeling it give way ever so slightly under her fingers.

Dean's entire body jolted and she was knocked back a few inches on the pillow while his hand slid underneath to grasp the gun he always has with him.

Trina lifted her hands to him, starting to talk quickly. "D-Dean, it's just me, you don't need your gun!"

Dean's tired eyes landed on her and he groaned, lifting both his hands to cover his mouth. His sleeve drifted down his arm to reveal the Mark of Cain and she shuddered just thinking about it. "Why couldn't you bug Sam?"

"Because then I'd have to climb down the bed, run down the halls, then squeeze myself under that little crack in his door. Last time I tried that I wound up with scratches. This bunker is huge! Now you tell me what you'd pick." Crossing her arms, Trina smiled up at her sleepy friend.

Dean's sleep filled eyes blinked a few times as he looked at her, a groggy scoff passing his lips. "You're a pain in the ass sometimes, you know that? Now, what do you want?"

Trina hesitated to voice her true concerns, knowing he would only say he's fine.  Instead, she thought back to some of the groceries they picked up earlier that day. "Hey, what about an Oreo? Ooh, with milk!"

Dean decided it was his turn to be quiet. He could tell the Borrower was hesitant to talk to him and changed the subject. And with a girl that size, secrets could be dangerous. "How about I get you your cookie, and you tell me the truth." He rolled over so he was laying on his side, his emerald colored eyes narrowing slightly.

Trina took a step back, meeting his gaze. Those weren't Dean's eyes. The Dean she knew. Maybe Sam had been right, and the Mark really was changing him. "D-Dean. S-Sam told me what happened yesterday. In that case. The way you...repeatedly stabbed them. Well after th-they were already dead."

One of his brows raised and he glanced just to the side of her. "Maybe Sam shouldn't be talking about things he doesn't understand."

"D-Dean, none of us u-understand it." Starting to step forward, she only stopped when his eyes again landed on her. She unintentionally flinched when his hand came around to reach for her, his fingers stopping a few inches away.

"You flinched. You hardly ever flinch when Sam and me go to grab you anymore.  So it's me. You're afraid because of what Sam told you." Dean's gruff voice held a hint of sadness, but that harly masked the anger she could practically see beginning to bubble in his chest.

Forcing herself to again meet his gaze, she frowned. "Dean, i-it's not like that. Y-You're not really you."

His fingers moved again and curled around her, moving her into an open palm. "Listen Trina. I have never felt better. You and Sam are the ones that need to stop and think." His tone became sharp, the palm underneath of her warm and almost vibrating.

Trina took note of the fact she was in the hand of the arm that held the Mark and sucked in a sharp breath. She could picture him losing it. His fingers curling around her tight enough to the point she wouldn't be able to recover. And then she pictured Sam's devastation when he found out what his brother had done.

"Why aren't you responding?" Dean's fingers lifted, his almost dark eyes staring at her with a fierce intensity.

When the fingers around her moved, Trina's fear overtook her emotions and frightened tears began to trickle down her face. "Y-You're going to kill me aren't you Dean? Th-The Mark is telling you t-to. It's telling you to squeeze the life out of me. Th-Then do it." She closed her eyes as tight as she possibly could, her body trembling in his palm.

Dean's fingers again twitched. His eyes never left her. Something in him really was telling him that. The realization and reason took control again and his green eyes widened. "Trina." He'd never think of hurting her. Never. Why had that thought been pushed into his head? No, he knew why.

His gaze drifted to the red mark on his arm and he sucked in a sharp breath. The hand Trina was on dropped her to the pillow and he was now fully sitting up in his bed. "I'm taking you to Sam's room. Let's get him to get you your snack." Guilt swelled in his chest.

Trina could see the guilt in his eyes which for the moment no longer held that horrifying, angry, cruel stare. But she liked the idea of being with the younger brother until Dean was back to normal. Who knows how long that would be?
