'Votes' are in, Sam was the top pick for who people would prefer to be found by if they were a Borrower. This was a little special interactive choice for the 100th short chapter I am posting on here. However, there is more than just this part. Welcome to a special THREE part story. With different characters each part. NONE OF THE PARTS ARE RELATED.

Sam
It had been a fairly quiet night. I had busied myself climbing through the abandoned building and swiping bits of food teens left behind when they used those large needles and white flour looking powder that made them act strangely. But that didn't bother me. As long as I was hidden when they were here, I was safe.
Tonight was different. The silence was a little too eerie. Even for me. Since that body was drug out of the building police have shown up nonstop. It was getting a tad bit harder to stay hidden. At least things seem done now though.
Suddenly I could hear the crunching of gravel outside, bright lights shining through the window, and the purring of a car engine. There was no time to get down from the shelf, all I could do was sit and hope the humans didn't come into the room.
Car doors slammed outside. Sets of footsteps made more crunching sounds against the gravel. The seemed to be nearing the house. My sensitive hearing scared the hell out of me sometimes. Sometimes it could be the settling noises of the house but it sounded like a rodent scurrying in the walls.
But this wasn't one of my paranoid moments. This was real. I couldn't hear the steps anymore though. Wait. I could hear light shuffling just in the other room, now nearing the door. There was nowhere to hide. Whoever it is would find me, and I'd probably end up dead.
Making out soft voices through the wall, I tried to make out what they were saying.
"Go...that room...back...Sam?" A faint gruff voice muttered.
"Then...upstairs." A sarcastic, annoyed voice replied.
I couldn't make out anything of importance. As I tried to focus on the voices, the door to my hiding room swung open. A very tall figure stepped through the door, his dark, brown colored hair hanging partially in his face which he knocked away easily. "He wants me to check the murder room, he can look upstairs."
He had some sort of rod in his hand that gave off light. A very bright light. One that he was waving around the room over the floor and walls.
I couldn't make out facial features too well from where I was standing, but then again, I didn't really want to. My heart hammered against my ribs, and I had absolutely nowhere to go. All I could do was stare in fear.
The intense light washed over me, and I quickly had to avert my gaze to avoid being blinded. However, I knew it was too late. His light gasp followed by the light footsteps that closed in on me confirmed that.
"What...uh...Dean? Can you come here a minute?" The giant called out, the direct light moving off to the side so it didn't hurt my eyes too bad anymore.
"D-Don't hurt me," I managed to squeeze out, my wide eyes locking on his hazel ones. They were filled with confusion, shock, and curiosity. But when I spoke, they quickly softened to a far more gentle gaze.
"Hurt you?" He lowered his voice, and before I had a chance to react I was being lifted from the shelf.
Panic set in and I started to kick. Squirm. Do anything I could to try and escape. But the fingers around my body didn't move. They instead continued to hold me in a surprisingly tender grasp.
