Chapter 82

"Bei, ready ka na?" Barbie asked, that certainly caught Bea's attention. Nasa pintuan ito ng kwarto niya while Bea's quietly seated on her bed, totally spacing out. "Okay ka lang?" Sunod na tanong nito.

"Yeah." Simpleng sagot niya.

Lumapit naman si Barbie sa kaniya. Actually, alam na niyang yun ang isasagot ni Bea sa kaniya. Oo, kahit ang totoo, hindi naman talaga. Pero kahit ganun naiintindihan naman niya ito. Halos isang linggo pa lang ang nakakalipas simula nung huling pagkikita nila ni Jake at hanggang ngayon kinukumbinse pa rin niya ang sarili niya na tama ang ginawa niya at yun ang mabuti para sa kanila dalawa, at sa anak nila, kahit na hindi iyon ang gusto niya.

"Alam mo, pwede ka ng bida sa mga music video ni Moira. Saktong-sakto yang pag-eemote mo sa mga kanta niya. Gusto mo magpalit ka na ng career?" Biro nito sa dalaga. Agad namang sumilay ang ngiti sa labi nito dahil sa sinabi ni Barbie at napailing. Agad namang nagseryoso si Barbie at tumabi sa kaniya. "What's on your mind?"

"A lot." Mabilis na sagot nito.

Barbie smirked. "I figured that out already. But what's on top of your mind? Just one. Let's do this one step at a time."

"My baby." Pag-amin nito.

"Good. Now tell me, anong tungkol sa baby?"

"I wanna know if he's okay. How big he is now? Healthy ba siya? Anong dapat kong gawin kung hindi—"

"Teka, teka..." Barbie interrupted. "He? Paano mo nalaman na lalaki yang baby mo, halos isang buwan pa lang yan."

"Feeling ko lang." sagot nito.

"Wow, mother's instinct. That's a first." Natatawang sabi pa ni Barbie. "Anyway, if that's what on top of your mind, we better get going." Tumayo na nga ang dalaga at humarap sa kaniya. "1pm ang appointment natin sa OB. You'll get your answers there for sure. Kaya tara na, baka ma-late tayo." Yaya nito sa kaniya.

Tumayo na nga rin si Bea at sinukbit sa balikat ang bag niya at bumaba na ang dalawa at umalis.

They got to the hospital and went straight to the doctor's clinic. It was actually the doctor recommended by her aunt, Barbie's mother.

"Hi, I'm Dra. Diaz." Bati ng doctor sa kanila the moment they entered her clinic. Nakipagkamay ang dalawa dito. "So which one of you is expecting?" Nakangiting tanong nito sa dalawa.

"I am." Bea answered.

"Well, congratulations." Nakangiting bati nito sa kaniya. "Shall we start then?"

Bea nodded. At nagsimula na nga sila. The doctor examined Bea and asked her questions. She also got blood sample and all the necessary things she needed. Though they can't let her undergo ultrasound yet, like she requested, as it was still too early and the doctor advised to wait for a few weeks for the same. The process lasted for almost an hour.

"So far from what I can see and from what you said, mukhang normal naman lahat. Your baby seems to be behaving well at hindi ka pinapahirapan, knowing na it's your first pregnancy." The doctor smiled though she kept her eyes focus on the paper she was writing on. "The tests results will come out next week, I will call if there's anything that we should be worried about. But for now, everything is good. Nothing to worry." She told them.
