The Art of Letting Go

Chapter 116

The sun shines brightly outside as everyone gets ready for a day of water activities at the beach, except the girls, Bea, Barbie and Bela. Beach towels, sunscreen, and snacks were all packed up in the living room.

"Tito, okay na daw po yung bangka." Jake said as he made his way back inside the rest house.

"Alright, everyone! Are we all set?" Ben announced.

"Yes! Let's go, Dad!" Andrew excitedly said as he ran towards the beach. Others followed him.

"Wait, where's Ralph?" Jake asked.

"I'm here." Ralph answered as he came down the stairs. "Kumuha lang akong extra towel."

"Tulog pa rin si Barbie?" Bea asked.

"Kakagising lang. Pinababa ko na din para may kasama kayo ni Bela dito." Ralph said.

Jake nodded to him, then walked to Bea. "You sure you'll be fine here?"

Bea smiled. "You guys go ahead. We'll be fine. Don't worry."

"Call me if you need anything. I'll keep my phone close to me the whole time." Jake assured her.

"Just enjoy, mahal. Have fun!" Bea said, trying to make his worry go away.

"Jake, tara na!" They heard Ralph calling for him.

"Sige na. Hinihintay ka na nila oh." Sabi ni Bea.

"I love you." He kissed her goodbye. And blew kisses to sleeping Bela as well. "Call me."

"I won't." Bea said teasing. Jake just smiled and walked out of the house to the beach.

Bea watched them from afar until their boat sailed away from the shore. She checked once on Bela and as she's still peacefully sleeping, she went back to the kitchen with the baby monitor in hand, and set it on the table. And then went to check the oven as she already placed the last batch of cookies inside.

She woke up a little early today so she was able to finish baking Andrew's cake before he woke up and they were able to sing him happy birthday during breakfast which made him even more excited for the day.

"Good morning!" She heard Barbie. She went straight to her to see what she was doing.

"Hey, sleepyhead." Bea greeted back.

"Wait, nagstart ka na magbake?" Agad na tanong nito.

"Patapos na ko actually. Waiting na lang sa last batch ng cookies."

Barbie's eyes widened in awe. "Really? Even the cake?"

Bea nodded. "Nakantahan na nga namin si Andrew kanina. Late ka na kasi gumising."

Napatingin naman si Barbie sa phone niya to check the time. "You're all done? It's not even 9am." She pointed out.

Bea laughed at her reaction. "You want to try?" She offered the cookies and Barbie happily took one.

"Yum! I miss this." Barbie said as she savored her first bite.

"Milk?" She offered her again. Barbie nodded immediately so Bea went to get fresh milk from the fridge and pour some into a glass. "Here." She handed her the glass.

"Thanks." Barbie smiled.

"Sige lang, kumain ka lang dyan."

Sakto naman at tumunog na ang oven. Bea took the rest of the cookies out and let them cool down on the table near Barbie.
