6|| The disappearance of Takashi Shirogane

Weeks passed by, until it slowly turned to months. We had been planning and attacking Galra bases, small of course, and slowly taking back the galaxy.

What was more concerning is that when we weren't attacking the Galra is that we were being chased by the Galra.  The paladins didn't know how the Galra were finding us, but I knew better. I knew that Zarkon was tracking us through not only the black lion, but through me as well.

It came to a point where Zarkon was right on our tail, but our teludav had several broken crystals from all the other wormholes we had already created.

We were trapped. Everything seemed to happen so fast, I couldn't process it. I knew I couldn't co-pilot anything now if I wanted to fulfill my end of the bargain.

"Jade! Come on now!!" Keith yelled at me. I shook my head.

"Pilot without me."

"Why not?" Quick, think of a convincing lie.

"H-Haggar can control me when I get too close to her or Zarkon. Fighting now might just hurt Voltron more than the Galra."

Keith sighed, "Okay, just- just stay safe, okay?"

"Okay."

Keith was in the middle of fighting Zarkon, Shiro couldn't get anywhere near the emperor of the Galra unless he wanted to get sucked into his ship. Keith kept fighting, but I knew he would be overpowered, and fast.

I had to help.

I took an escape pod and flew to Haggar. The only more dangerous person in the universe other than Zarkon was Haggar, and if she was gone, Zarkon would be weak. Allura battled Haggar with fury.

"Let me handle this bastard!" I yelled at Allura through the radio. She backed off so I could try and attack her. She blocked every single hit, after all, she was the one who had given me my power, and she knew my every move.

"YOU DARE BETRAY ME, OBOROTEN! I GAVE YOU FREEDOM, AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME?! YOU SHALL PAY TRAITOR!!!"

I froze. I knew my mic caught that, and I knew everyone on Voltron heard that.

"THAT'S RIGHT, VOLTRON. SHE IS A SPY. SHE WAS GOING TO BETRAY YOU!! AT LEAST FIGHT LIKE A MONSTER YOU PATHETIC THING!"

I didn't fight back as she struck me with quintessence. I never yelled in pain. This is what I deserved.

"You made me a monster, but I chose not to be," I said, teeth clenched. "You will never be my family, no matter how much you say you are!"

I felt myself do something I hadn't done in a long time. I transformed into a full werewolf. I grew claws, my ears grew longer, I had a tail! I was five times bigger than the average timber wolf, and I was ready to take down my former captor. I lashed out with my claws, striking her face. She screamed. We both knew she stood no chance against me, so she fled.

"Bye bitch," I muttered. I went back to human. The radio was silent, the fight was either over and Voltron was in shock or everyone is dead.

I went back to the castle, exhausted from turning full wolf. Everyone got out of their lions, but payed no attention at me, they all ran to black instead.

"Shiro! SHIRO!" Keith yelled, sounding on the verge of tears. Everyone entered the control room, but there was no one in Shiro's seat. He was gone.

Keith whirled around to face me. "You! If you had told us, if you had warned us, Shiro would be here, we wouldn't be in this fucking mess! I was right all along! You were a spy!"
