22|| Waking up

((Okay, I don't know personally what waking up from a coma feels like, so bear with me))

It felt like forever was passing by. An eternity of me trying to wake up to see my friends.

Let me tell you this, being in a coma is very boring. When I wasn't trying to wake up, I was letting my mind wander or rest. Gotta love it.

Nothing happened for a long time. From time to time I would hear voices, but now I was never sure if they were real or in my head. I felt like giving up, but I knew I couldn't. I still had to save the universe.

I opened my eyes, feeling as though I had just woken up from a nap. Before I could process what was around me, someone collapsed on me. Jared. From the corner of my room, I saw Keith stand up, looking relieved. He rushed over to my bed and picked Jared up, throwing him over his shoulder.

"Hang on, I'll be right back," Keith said, leaving the room. He came back after a few minutes and sat down at the edge of my bed. "You okay?"

I nodded. "Y-yeah," my voice was raspy due to lack of use. "What happened?"

Keith started to explain the whole story to me.

You were found inside the destroyed Galra base, unconscious. You were taken back to the castle to be healed, but everything Kekini tried didn't work. We even tried putting you in a pod, but of course, it didn't work. Kekini declared you dead, and everyone thought that. That is, everyone but Jared. He claimed your spirit was still alive, which gave us a chance at bringing you back, even if your body was... you know, dead.

Jared said the first best person to heal you would be Haggar, which was out of the question, so we had to find Lotor. It turns out, Lotor is alive and well, and is currently on the run. While he wouldn't come to us himself, he still helped us with finding a cure to healing you, and Jared was the key.

We had Pidge and Allura run some tests on his physical and magical abilities, and they proved that he still had some magic, however very little. Lotor figured this would be enough to help you and talked to Jared alone. What he did, I have no idea, or if he even survived. He's with Kekini now, so he should be fine.

"How long was I out?" I asked.

"Two months."

"TWO MONTHS?" I screeched, sitting up abruptly, only to realize I was only in my underwear. I yelped and covered myself with the blanket, blushing madly. Keith also blushed and covered his eyes when he saw.

"Umm... let me get you some cloths," he said, rushing out.((that adorable awkward bean)) He came back after a few minutes with some of my cloths and left so I could change. Slipping on the  (f/c) shirt and jeans, I swung my legs over to the side of the bed, hoping that walking wouldn't be a problem.

I was wrong. Two months takes way too much muscle away. I felt weaker, and as soon as I stood up, my knees wobbled and I fell down, knocking over several books on a shelf, which led me to realize I was in Kekini's room. The door opened and Keith came back in, still blushing. Wordlessly, he helped me up and sat me back down on the bed.

"Thanks," I said, adjusting myself so I was in a more comfortable position. 

"Jade?"

"Yeah?"

"Before I let you see everyone else, I-I wanted to apologize."

"For what?"

"I should have been there to protect you, and the team." Keith sighed, hugging his knees to his chest. "I'm so sorry Jade, I really am."
