After about a day, I noticed we were running out of food, water, and oxygen. You could only live in a pod for a few days, and that's if you were alone. I had been desperately trying to find Voltron while Jared looked at suitable planets nearby. Finally, I managed to open a link.

"Yes!" I said. The chat opened up, and I saw Allura at the bridge with Kekini. "Damn, am I happy to see you guys!"

"What do you want Jade?" Kekini asked. I guessed she was bitter at me for leaving still.

"Kiwi, I'm so sorry, but I need a huge favor from you guys."

"Go on," Allura said.

"Allura, we are on a pod in the middle of nowhere, and we're running out of supplies," I started. "Lotor has been captured and taken to the Galra, but he let us escape, knowing we'd come to you. I feel terrible asking this, but can we come back?"

"Who is 'we?'"

"Oh, right! This is Jared, an old friend of mine. He was the wolf soul stuck inside me ((that's what she said)) but with Allura's magic, he's his own host now," I explained hastily.  "Please let us come back, Allura. I fear that we will only last another day or two."

Allura sighed. "I will have to speak to the other paladins. Until then, send me your whereabouts so we can be there." Her tone made it perfectly clear she didn't trust me or Jared at the moment. The com link closed, and all we could do was wait. Jared looked over at me suddenly, and I realized I had been staring at him.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"Nothing," I said. "Just thinking."

"What? Am I too handsome for your eyes to bear?" He teased. I gave him a small smile.

"I just miss Earth," I said. "I wish I could be a little kid again, live my childhood the way I wanted to. I just want to be with my family."

Jared took my hand in his. "Hey, it'll be okay. We'll kick Zarkon's ass, take down his empire and go back to Earth."

I saw tears splatter onto my legs. "I-I just can't help but to think... what if we don't make it back? What if we fail? How long? How long must I keep fighting? When can I return home to stay and die of old age? When will I blessed with that?"

Jared cupped my face in his hands. "Jade, we will make it back. I will make sure you make it back. You brought me back when I should be dead, and I am forever in your debt. You will see your family again. I swear on my life and soul."

I gazed into his silver eyes, and I saw them get closer and closer until I felt a pair of warm lips press against mine. It was wrong. I was Keith's only, but his lips were so soft. This was a moment I had secretly desired all my childhood. To have a soft, gentle, sweet kiss from a boy I loved. I wished I could've lived in that instantaneous moment forever, but he pulled away before  I could react.

Seeing my shocked face, he said, "I'm sorry. I had to do that at least once."

"I-It's okay," I said, bringing my knees up to my chest and resting my chin on them. Jared put an arm on my shoulder.

"You should get some rest," he said. I nodded, the exhaustion and lack of oxygen finally dawning on me. I got up, leaving to go to the bunks, when everything went black.

I woke up back in the castle, but I wasn't in my room. I was in a cell. I got up hurriedly and looked around, panicked. Keith was sitting down on the ground in front of me, inspecting his Marmora Blade. I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"Can I help you?" Keith asked, and his tone was rather rude, as if I was interrupting something extremely important.

"Why am I in here?" I asked, trying not to explode in anger.

"If you are the real Jade, I'm going to need you to answer my questions before I answer yours," Keith said coldly. "Who knows what Lotor put you through."

"For your information, he didn't put me through anything. He helped me," I snapped. Keith glared at me.

"Fine, but only the real Jade can answer this: what did we do the first night you realized you loved me?"

I blushed, still not over what happened. It was all so long ago, it seemed like a dream. "Lance dared you to kiss me, a-and so you took a drink of Garmunch, then you leapt on top of me and..."

Keith nodded as I trailed off. "Shortly after, what happened when you found me in my room?"

I tracked back to that day. "You wouldn't let me in, but I forced my way in anyway. You were huddled up in your blankets, and when I took them off I realized you were Galra."

"What did I look like?"

"You had the same dark hair, except with a purple tint. Your eyes were almost completely glowing yellow, you skin was also purple, and you had two slightly darker pointy marking s on the sides of you cheeks."

Keith nodded again. "Good, I'm glad you're okay Jade."

I opened my mouth, but stopped in realization. "You aren't mad at me?"

Keith nodded, "Of fucking course I am, Jade. You don't think I was?"

"I-I thought you would act rash when you saw me.."

"I understand why you left, probably more than anyone. I'm also angrier at you than anyone here, but I discovered I just don't- I just don't want to lose anyone else," Keith's eyes grew soft, looking down at his feet and blinking away tears. "Because the truth is Jade, I do love you. I don't trust you or fear you, I just love you. And I know I acted badly in the past but- but I just didn't know how I felt! I had never experienced love."

He looked me in the eyes as he confessed, tears rolling down his face. I pressed my hands to the walls of my cell. I wanted to burst through, to run to him and tell him the same.

"I love you too Keith," I said softly. Keith smiled at me, which I gladly returned. "Could you let me out? I can't stand not being able to hug the crap out of you."

Keith laughed, one that I assumed that he hadn't laughed in a long time.

"I wish I could, but I have strict orders from Allura not to. Your werewolf pal kinda went berserk when he found out she was imprisoning you, so we had to.. you know."

"YOU KILLED HIM??!!" I screeched. Keith put his hands up and shook his head.

"NO! No, no! We just knocked him out! I swear we didn't hurt him like that!"

I huffed. "You could have just brought him to me."

"And get my face sliced off? No thanks."

We both sat in awkward silence. I was honestly astonished at how he wasn't yelling at me or arguing with me like I expected him to. I looked up at him and saw that he was gazing into my eyes, and I looked into his. I never truly appreciated the mixture of grays, blues, and purples in his eyes. They almost seemed to shift from the three colors, and so we both just looked at each other, enjoying one another's company without words.
