Lotor is about to arrive. I stand at the pod deck, waiting for his ship to arrive. Everyone else stands slightly behind me, not sure how to approach Lotor. They all hav

His ship, which is now in sight, comes closer and closer to the Castle until it slowly lands on the deck, which blows my hair back, and making me squint a little.

The hatch opens, and out jumps Lotor, in full armor. Everyone but me and Jared raises their weapons. I put a hand behind me to stop them from attacking. Lotor nods his head at me.

"Thank you, Jade. I can assure you all I am trustworthy."

"Then prove yourself," Allura hissed.

"Oh, I think I already have. You see, if I wanted you all dead, you would be by now."

"A likely story," Pidge spat. Lotor put his hands up in defeat.

"You see that I'm unarmed, and I'm willingly handing myself over to you. Throw me in a cell," he said. "I dare you."

"Then we will," Shiro said, making me panic slightly.

"There's no need for that—"

"We can't trust him Jade," Allura said. "Shiro, take him to a cell."

I gave Lotor an apologetic look as Lotor was taken away by Shiro.

"Allura—" I started.

"No. You are lucky I haven't killed him," Allura said. "He will stay in there."

I roll my eyes and follow Shiro to the cells, where I find Lotor sitting on the bench inside one. Allura and Pidge follow, along with everyone else. I glared at the floor, then felt a hand on my shoulder. Jared.

"They'll let him out once they see he means no harm," Jared smiled. "It'll be okay."

I returned the smile so he would back off, then turned my attention back to Lotor and the others, who were interrogating him. I listened into the conversation, and every response he gave them was true. Shiro turned to me.

"Jade, I know that you know Lotor better than anyone here. Is he lying?"

"No," I shook my head. "Every word from his mouth is the truth."

Shiro nodded.

"Good."

The next couple of weeks went by like this, Lotor would give Voltron information from his cell, but I could tell he was growing tired of being in there. One day, I decided to go see him by myself.

"Ah, Jade. I assume Shiro sent you here?" Lotor asked, trying to seem calm. It wasn't working.

"No, I just decided to visit you on my own," I said.

"Why?"

"To talk. Get to know each other better. We are family after all."

Lotor nodded. "That seems fair enough. So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Whatever you want," I said. "I just want to make things easier on you, since you've been cooped up in there for so long."

"I'm fine," Lotor said. "You don't have to do this for me, Jade. Honestly, I think I deserve this."

"Maybe, maybe not. But if that's the case, then I'm here because I want to be."

Lotor smiled. "Alright then. How is Jared?"

"He's doing much better thanks to you," I said. "And I can tell he's much happier."

"Good..."

We continued talking about lighthearted topics, and occasionally Lotor would even crack a joke, making us both laugh. It was crazy to think a few months ago I would've thought he was evil, but he was really just trying to look out for those he cared for, like me.

Eventually, I had to leave to keep planning missions, but at least I got Lotor to smile.

"I can help you plan if you wish," Lotor said. "I know the best locations to attack every base. It would make your job much easier."

"It's fine," I grinned. "I need to be busy with something. I can't stand boredom."

"Very well. This was nice, by the way. Just some quality time with my amazing cousin."

"Oh hush you," I said, a little embarrassed by his compliment. "I'll see you tomorrow if I can."

"That would be greatly appreciated," he said. I nodded and left the room. As I was heading back to the lounge I ran into Shiro and Allura, Who were heading to Lotor.

"Why were you alone with him?" Allura asked, stopping me.

"He's been cooped up in there for so long, the only reason anyone talks to him is because they want information. I was just spending some time with him."

"What were you talking about? Did you give any details on missions??"

"No! Why would I?"

"Because you would try and break him out," Allura muttered.

"Am I not aloud to spend time with my family anymore?!" I shouted. Shiro put a hand on Allura's shoulder.

"Princess, give it a rest," Shiro said, in a tone that was almost stern. Allura sighed.

"Fine. Fine. But I am not letting this go!"

"That's fine. We'll discuss it later," Shiro said. He and Allura continued down the hall. As I walked, I heard yelling.

"I have done nothing but help you, and this is the treatment I get?!"

I sigh, turn around, and walk straight back to the jail cells. Lotor is standing up, a furious look in his eyes. Allura is glaring daggers at him, and Shiro... Shiro looked like he'd rather be anywhere but there.

"May I remind you that you TOYED with Voltron while you were emperor! It's humiliating and disgusting!" Allura snapped. Lotor growled.

"If it wasn't for me, you would be dead."

"Oh really! How so?"

"I wouldn't have been the one to kill you, it would've been Jade. Having two souls in one body slowly drives the host insane, until they become homocidal and kill everyone around them," Lotor snapped, pointing at me.

"Don't brings that up please," I said. "It's already painful enough having those memories."

Lotor sighed, realizing what he had said. "Yes, you're right. I apologize."

"No worries. Anyhow, Allura, he has a point. He has done everything we asked of him, I think he has more than just proved himself. He's pledged his loyalty."

"You see? She understands! I just want peace among the universe! Is a little trust too much to ask?"

Allura sighed, thinking about what we had said. Shiro stepped in.

"Princess, they have a point. Besides, we can't keep him locked up forever."

"Fine," Allura said. "But if I even think I see you doing something suspicious, I will send you straight back here!"

Lotor nodded, "That's understandable."

Allura unlocked the cell, causing the barrier to come down. Lotor stepped out of it and walked over to me. He bent down and wrapped his arms around me.

"Thank you."

"Y-You're welcome."
