I heard a shriek of pain. My teeth were sinking into Keith Kogane's arm, snapping his arm like a toothpick. I felt myself get thrown back into the wall, by none other than Allura. I winced at what I saw next.

Keith was lying on the ground, his arms bent at an odd angle, and blood, blood everywhere. I felt my eyes widen: what had I done?

I felt myself shrink down back to normal, not paying attention to the fact that my clothes had been reduced to rags, but I ran over to Keith, inspecting the wound. I didn't dare look over at Lance, I knew he was probably horrified.

"Keith? Keith! Wake up you moron!" I yelled at the unconscious teen. Furious at myself, I hoisted Keith's good arm over my shoulder and rushed out of  the room without giving the other two a glance.

"KEKINI! KEKINI! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!?" I yelled down the hall. In a flash, she was half running, half flying towards me at extremely fast speeds. She took one look at Keith and led me to his room, where I set him down on his bed. As she gathered herbs and other utensils for healing, she spoke.

"What happened?"

"I-I don't know. Keith attacked Lance, but then I-I-"

"Your wolf instincts are coming back, Jade," Kekini explained. I yelled out in fury at the truth I already knew.

"I know! I wish I wasn't a fucking wolf! God dammit!"

"It means you need to control your emotions," Kekini said, then began the process of actually healing Keith. She pressed her hands to Keith's wound, closing her eyes and concentrating. Where she touched him would heal over instantly, with fresh, raw skin covering the open wounds, and it steamed slightly.

"Hand me that bottle, would you?" Kekini instructed, pointing at a small bottle full of paste. I Hades it to her and she started rubbing it on over the spots where she had healed him. Finally, she bandaged the wound with what she said were bandages, but they looked more like fruit peel and smelled of lavender.

"Okay, I'm done. He'll be asleep for a few hours, so don't try and wake him. Also, he will scream when he wakes up. I may be able to heal him fast, but it's a painful process. If his arm hurts, put more of this paste on it, it'll numb his arm, but don't use the whole bottle. I don't know if it's toxic for humans, and I'd rather not find out," Kekini instructed. I was honestly surprised at her serious tone, considering she was always bubbly and happy.

"Could you do me another favor?"

"Yes?"

"Lance got hurt too. Could you go help him?" I asked. Kekini nodded and left the room. She stopped at the doorway.

"Are you sure you can control Oboroten?" She asked. I nodded. She gave me her usual grin and headed out.

Over the next few hours, I stayed with Keith, making sure his temperature was normal, but otherwise stayed in the corner of the room, fearing that I might turn back and murder him.

Eventually, he stirred and I cautiously walked closer to him.

"Keith? Are you okay?" I asked. He opened his eyes completely and tried to sit up before I pushed him back down.

"No, lie down, you need rest."

"J-Jade!" He said in shock when he realized it was me. He was scared of me.

"Keith, I-I'm really sorry!" I blurted out. "I haven't lost control of my powers in years! I didn't mean to hurt you!"

"Wait, What?"

"You-you don't remember?"

Keith brushed his forehead with his fingers. "I remember, but I can't think straight. Powers? I thought you were just mutated."

"No, I can transform at will, but I-I can't always control myself in wolf form," I explained slowly. "It's like someone else was controlling me."

"So you had no power over nearly snapping my arm in half?"

"No, I just went Oboroten to scare you, to scare you away from Lance."

"Shit, I really kicked his ass, didn't I?"

"It's okay, Kekini is healing him now. How's your arm?"

Keith looked down at his lifeless arm. "I can't feel it. Is that normal?"

"That's what Kiwi meant to do," I said.

"Kiwi?"

"Kekini's nickname."

"Oh. Um, when will I be able to use my arm again?"

"Probably by this evening. Kekini may be good at healing, but your arm was pretty fucked up," I said sheepishly. Keith then looked me up and down, as if he just realized my clothes were almost shredded.

"I'm guessing you didn't leave the room the entire time?"

"Heh heh.... no?"

"And you managed not to kill me?" I nodded. "Wow."

"It's called loyalty," I replied sarcastically. Keith laughed, but winced right after.

"Yeah, I may or may not have also broken a couple of your ribs in the process, and the paste only works on surface wounds, like bites. Sorry about that."

"You're awfully casual about this," Keith said. "Almost makes it seem like you did it on purpose."

"You were hurting Lance," I said defensively. "Anyway, you said you wanted to talk about something. What was it?"

"Oh, well.. I wanted to apologize. I-I know what you do is for a reason, and I just didn't see it. I thought it over... I don't want to lose you Jade, as both friend and... and more..."

"Are you saying you trust me?"

"I don't know if I trust you, but I'll do my best to do so. I want to trust you," Keith stammered.

"I want to trust you too," I said. "No more secrets?"

Keith nodded.

"No more secrets."
