you will walk by me as the world goes up in flames
your eyes will widen as you look at me
they will go down to my toes and then up to my head
taking in every inch before your eyes close for eternity.the acid will rain from the sky
dead bodies will litter the ground
and the bullet holes in their brains will be visible in the last light of day before the sun sets.it will be poetry.
the river of blood will flow through these abandoned streets
dragging my memories along with those raging waters.i pulled my hair out and cut it with the same blade that cut me
i ripped those clothes off my skin
and traded them for something that fit me betteryou were the one afraid this time
you were the marionette this time.and as that sun went over the horizon
as the moon rose into the sky
as i held your chin between my index finger and thumb
and the glimmering jewels appeared
the world's breath hitched
as i looked you dead in the eyes and said,
there is beauty in hideous things—
after all, how else could i have fallen in love with you?
