You want to have kids with me?

"What do you think our kid will look like?" she asked me suddenly, sliding her cold feet into my lap. I let my fingers rub them gently, gazing wondering up at her warm eyes already staring at mine.

"Our what?"

"Our kid. Or... future kid" she corrected herself.

At first, I couldn't quite figure out if she was messing with me but from the look in her eyes, she seemed to be serious.

"So you want to have kids with me?" I asked, raising my eyebrow at her.

She tilted her head at me – that cute little tilt – smiling widely before shrugging. A flush of heat ran to her cheeks and gave them that rosy colour I love so much.

"Haven't decided yet"

"Hey!" I whined, pulling her closer to me by grabbing her ankle.

She giggled loudly, biting into her rosy lip. She pushed herself up to sit in my lap, before she gently played with a tiny curl escaping my otherwise messy hair. I let my arms wrap around her hips, before nipping lovingly to her neck.

"I mean having a mini Shawn running around, that's a big commitment. One dork is enough for now" she teased me, sticking her tongue out.

Quickly, I leaned in and licked her tongue with mine. I knew she hated it but I couldn't help but tease her. She pulled back wrinkling her forehead, before tapping my nose tip.

"But seriously, Shawn. How do you think it would be like?"

"I don't know. Do you think about that?" I asked her, biting the inside of my cheek. I couldn't figure out, why this conversation made me so nervous.

"Sometimes" she admitted shyly, playing nervously with her fingers. I let my hands grab hers, planting a tiny kiss on her sweaty palms.

"What to do you think about then?"

"I mean, hopefully, he'll end up looking like me because we both know, I have been blessed with the looks" she joked, sending me a teasing smile.

I rolled my eyes at her mocking comment. Always so sassy, but I had to admit, I loved her for that. She had always been able to challenge me in every way possible and I think, that's exactly why I fell for her in the beginning.

"So it's going to be a boy then?"

"Yeah, a little dork like yourself. I think he's going to look like me, but have a personality like yours" she muttered, biting her lip once again. I let my thumb lift her chin gently, letting her soft ones brush against mine.

"A personality like mine?"

"Yeah. He's going to be such a dork, but in the most adorable way. He's going to be one of those kids who just makes everyone laugh. Who always says something funny or does something cute that just makes people crack up so easily. He's going to be such a great friend. Someone who's always there for his friends and who stick up for them. We're gonna have so many problems with him biting or hitting other kids, because someone took his friend's toy car or teased them or something. He'll be a hugger for sure, a sucker for cuddles. And his smile, oh his smile is going to melt so many hearts melt" she smiled, more to herself than me.

When I caught her eyes again, I saw a little sparkle, I'd never seen before. A light inside them, glowing almost.

It was the most honest kind of love there existed. She always looked at me like she was looking at her entire world. She always smiled to me like she had just won the lottery. I was lucky to be loved by someone like her.

She may be talking about our future kid, but she was also talking about all the things about me she fell in love with, all the things she loved about who I was.

Isn't that the biggest show of affection? Wishing our kid would end up like me?

I couldn't think of anything else being a bigger sign of love. This was probably the most genuine way to say I love you without using those three words.

I let my forehead rest against hers, before letting my palm press gently against her chest as I felt her heart pounding against her chest. Leaning in, only being inches away from her lips, I took a deep breath and look directly into her loving, warm eyes.

"Our kid is going to be the most loving and kind boy in the entire world with the biggest heart of them all, just like his mother's is" I whispered, before closing the tiny gap between our lips.
