"Benjamin." Shawn says suddenly, forcing your attention from your favourite book to your boyfriend sitting at the end of the couch.
Your sore feet rests in his lap while he rubs your toes with his thumbs. You catch his warm, brown eyes and you can't help the smile that shoots across your lips.
"What?" You ask him confused with a chuckle, wrinkling your forehead as the words spill from your mouth.
You tilt your head to meet his warm stare properly, still confused by his sudden outburst. You are deep into sharing your second bottle of wine and judging by the colour of Shawn's cheeks, he's beginning to feel somewhat tipsy.
You like it, though. How his thoughts are all over the place and he says whatever comes to mine whenever he's drunk.
"I like Benjamin for a boy." He says again while a smile slips across his heated face. "Don't you think it's cute?"
His slurred question makes you giggle slightly while you close your book and puts it down. Shawn pulls your feet and drags you further to his lanky body. You crawl into his lap and close your arms around his neck.
"Are you talking about children, Mendes?" Shawn nods as an answer and plant a soft kiss on your shoulder.
"If we ever have a boy, I want us to name him Benjamin."
"Where is this coming from?" You ask with a smile, shaking your head lightly.
"I feel like we would have a boy with big brown eyes, such a charming smile and wild curls and Benjamin would be the perfect name to such a charmer." Shawn blurs out as if it was the most normal thing to suddenly think about.
Your heart feels warm within seconds, you love that he's thinking about a serious future with you. You love that he can express is this easily and without holding back.
"Okay." You promise him as you stretch to give him a small kiss. "Benjamin it is then."
You pick up your book and goes back to your read while Shawn puts music in his ears. You sit in silence but the tenderness is hanging in the air and heads your body slowly.
You know in your heart that you want to have kids with this man. A little, brown-eyed boy with a killer smile just like his father.
