Jimin ran, as fast as he could, he ran to his sister's room. But it was too late.
The doctor was stepping out from the room, gently closing the door behind him. He looked pained when he saw Jimin's expectant face.
Eyes shining with unshed tears, Jimin asked the doctor about his sister, knowing deep down that it was already too late.
I'm sorry, said the doctor, she was too far gone. We couldn't save her.
Jimin could feel his heart physically shatter. He leaned against the wall, sliding down until he was curled up on the floor, staring blankly ahead.
He felt empty. Like a shell of himself. His better half was gone. His sister, his twin, his companion, was gone. Forever.
Beside him, Jimin heard Taehyung sobbing, weeping, screaming. He lost her too. They had both lost an amazing human being from their lives. And there was nothing they could do about it.
