"You really should come down to the set," Emilio said. Ever since he found out, he'd been visiting me in the hotel room days before shooting. We let it slip to Patrick, and Patrick strongly recommended to tell Matt, but I still refused to do it.
"I don't know."
"Look, you're depressing me with this staying in bed and closing the curtains and watching I Love Lucy until dark. Come on, just come down for one day... it's your job anyway," Emilio said.
"He wants you down there. Says he loves you a lot," he said.
"Fine. I'll come down there."
"Get ready and meet me in my car downstairs."
*************
I had my own nurse station tent pitched and ready by the Curtis house they decided on. All I basically had to do was sit there and watch everybody else. No one really noticed me until Emilio went up to Matt and pointed to the tent. Matt smiled and strolled over to where I was.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi," he crouched down and kissed me while pulling my legs around his sides. He picked me up and sat in the chair and adjusted me so I sat in his lap.
"I missed you," he said, giving me another kiss.
"I missed you too," I said halfheartedly.
"What'd you been doing up there in the hotel room all by yourself?" he asked.
"Nothing. Reading over the schedule and the script." He moved my hair out of my face and smiled.
"You're so beautiful, you know that," he said. All of a sudden, my lower stomach felt as if knives were piercing through it and my back stiffened. I winced in pain and grabbed onto Matt's arm.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Nothing," I said.
"Seems like there's something," he said.
"No, no." My pants were warm, and I felt really, really uncomfortable, so stiff I couldn't move.
"Essie, what's going on?"
"Can you get Emilio or Patrick?"
"Patrick's rehearsing. Why do you need Emilio? Just tell me," he said.
"No, please just get Emilio," I said. He picked me up off his lap and put me back in my chair and ran back to the crowd of people on the streets. Seconds later, I saw Emilio and Matt come running back.
"What's the matter?" Emilio asked.
"I don't know," I said. Matt scooped me up and brought me to his car.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm bringing you to the hospital. Emilio, open the door please," I was placed in the backseat while Matt and Emilio took the front seats.
"We'll be there soon..."

We had arrived at the hospital, and we had to wait in the ER. Soon, they got to us and they helped me into an examination room.
"What's the matter?" the doctor came in seconds later.
"I don't know. We were just sitting and then she was hunched over in pain. She wouldn't tell me what the matter was," Matt said.
"Is the pain in the lower abdomen?" the doctor asked, slipping gloves on.
"Yes," I said.
"Are you pregnant?" he asked.
"No, no, she's not pregnant," Matt said. I signaled for Matt to come near me.
"Look, can you go get my book from my hotel room? I really want it right now."
"What do you need a book for? I wanna stay here."
"I know, but I really just want to keep reading while I'm here waiting. It's on my nightstand," I said. He looked at Emilio.
"Fine. I'll be right back," he said, kissing my cheek and walking out of the exam room. Emilio closed the door behind him.
"She is pregnant, doc," Emilio said.
"Okay, well, let's get this over with before he comes back."
