(Can y'all leave some feedback for me please? I try to improve my story but I'm not really getting thorough feedback. Thank you!)

"No, Ma, we're not going to be able to make it this week," Matt over the phone.

"Why?" I heard her say.

"Because I got hurt, so I can't exactly get out of bed for a couple weeks."

"What the hell happened to you?"

"Uh, my character gets shot and during the shoot a couple days ago, a bullet hit me in the stomach."

"Oh my God, Matt! Are you alright? Did you get it out? Did you go to the hospital? Are you in pain?"

"Yeah, I'm a little sore, Ma. Essie got it out and she stitched it up yesterday. I'm fine."

"Matt, you got shot!"

"Not really."

"Are you okay? Who's taking care of you?"

"Essie."

"And is she doing a good job?"

"An excellent job. Better than a hospital," he smiled and squeezed my hand.

"Oh really?"

"Really."

"Are you sure you're okay, love?"

"Yes, Ma, I'm fine. Just sore, real sore," he said.

"Is she treating you right?"

"Yes. She's being fantastic."

"Okay. Can I talk to her?"

"Sure. Here you go, Ma," he handed me the phone and I held it to my ear.

"Hi, Mrs. Dillon," I said, rising from the bed and going into the bathroom to fill the bucket with water.

"Hi, Essie! Is everything all right over there?"

"Yes. Yeah, he's fine. He's just been sleeping a lot."

"Is he bathing? When he's sick he doesn't like to bathe," she said.

"Yeah, he's been showering."

"Is he weak? Is he irritated?"

"He's exhausted. He's been sleeping a lot but he's a little cranky. But you know what's weird. He has a slight fever."

"A fever? Really? How high?"

"No, no, I figured out it was the blood clotting. It's about...101."

"Is he having trouble sleeping?"

"A little. He's been waking up a lot."

"Oh my gosh, do I need to go down there?"

"No, no, he's fine. We should be up there in about a week."

"Okay. Okay, good. And then he can stay with us for a little while."

"Yeah, he'll be fine."

"Okay. Thank you so much, Essie."

"No problem. I'll give you back to Matt. Alright? Buh-bye," I handed Matt the phone.

"Hi, Ma...yeah....I'm fine, Ma!...she's good..." I stopped the faucet and brought the water to his bedside.

"Okay...Love you too....Bye..." He hung up and handed me the phone. I set it back on the table.

"She worried?"

"Yeah, she's worried. She wants me to stay with them in New York when we go up there," he said.
