I was out of there the next day, better than ever. I was back in the set by noon but all they really did was rehearse in the high school. So I worked with Marge in costume with sizes and styles for the boys.

"Do you think Matt will like this?" She pulled a heavy brown coat from the pile of clothes in the trailer.

"Yeah he'll wear it. Well it doesn't really matter what he wants to wear. He has to."

"I heard he has to spend the night in jail."

"Yeah that's tonight. He's not too happy about it," I said.

"Look, I have a bunch of different color t-shirts for Tommy. And this," she pulled out an oversized plaid shirts.

"Maybe not red for plaid. But the plaid's good," I said.

"And the jeans are real high up. Like Mom jeans."

"I don't know. Let's just see."

"Hey!" Tommy walked into the trailer.

"You wanted to see me?" He Said.

"Yes. These are the costumes we picked out."

"What about for the first scene?"

"Purple, purple, jeans and converse. You're gonna have to wear the converse a little while for soccer and stuff so they look beat," Marge said.

"Ok."

"Come on, I'll take ya to hair," I said leading him out and we went right next door to the hair and makeup trailer.

"Jack!" I said. Jack smiled and gave me a hug.

"Essie, I haven't seen you in a couple days. Where you been?!" He said. There's only one word to describe Jack: fabulous. I loved Jack, he made sure anyone was comfortable and asked people if certain things were okay.

"Wasn't feeling too good."

"I'm sorry. Tommy, how are you?"

"Good. You?"

"Fine. Look, you're taller than Essie."

"Shut up!" I teased.

"Okay, let's see. Why are you consulting me today?"

"For the first scene, he needs a little makeup," I said. I was basically the person that guided the actors along on the set. I helped with anything they needed and told the people that were in charge. Sometimes I felt a little too powerful but no one really complained about me.

"What about this knife scene? What's going to happening with that?"

"Ah. Props has a dull knife and we decided to just put some red liquid on the edge of it so that when it glides, it seems you're being cut. You won't be actually hurt."

"Okay."

"Why don't you see Dee Dee for hair? DEE DEE!"

"Yeah?" She yelled.

"Tommy's here for a hair consultation!"

"Oh okay," she popped out of the back of the trailer and smiled. I loved Dee Dee too. Because she was Jack's wife and I always talked to Jack, she began to open up to me and I just loved her.

"Hi, Tommy. Whatcha need today?"

"I just wanna know how my hairs gonna look in the first scene."

"I'm gonna trim a little of it off because it's really long. But I'll brush it back, slap some grease in it, and style it. Nothing to be scared of," she said.

"Wait actual grease?"

"Yes... If you didn't want actual grease in your hair you shouldn't have tried out."

"God, I don't know what it is with all of you boys and your hair. Y'all prize it," I said.

"No I'm just surprised," Tommy said.

"You're a wimp. Dee Dee, how did Matt react when you cut off his hair?"

"He held his head and looked at the ground practically shit himself," she laughed.

"Wow," I said.

"Okay well it's lunch. I'm taking a break," Dee Dee said.

"Yeah I better eat," I said, hopping out of the trailer, Tommy following.

"You know, Essie," Tommy said.

"Hmm?"

"Do you think we could eat lunch together today?"

"I mean I'm gonna eat with Rob and Christine and Matt but I guess."

"Okay."
