"Come on, Essie, we didn't come down to the pool just so you could sit here. Come on, jump in!" Matt shouted from the pool. Christine sat next to me and I had a towel wrapped around me.

"No," I said.

"Essie, if your cute little ass does not get in this pool now, I will get out and throw you in myself!" He yelled and pulled himself underwater.

"No..." He went up the stairs and jogged over to my beach chair, dripping wet and took the towel off my shoulder.

"Come on, darlin, let's get in. We need a little fun after this whole thing," he whispered. I looked over to Christine and she gestured her head over to the pool.

"Get in," she mouthed.

"Hey, come on, I'll put you in!" He said, before scooping me up.

"No, Matt, don't!" I shouted, trying to squirm out of his arms.

"No! No!" I screeched as he started to swing me.

"One! Two! Three!" He swung three times and tossed me into the water.

"MATTHEW DILLON!" I screamed once I reached oxygen. He jumped in after me and held me by the waist.

"Hey, hey, hey," he pulled me closer until his chest was touching mine.

"Give me a kiss," he said. I leaned closer and put my hands around his neck before giving him a close and slow kiss.

"Come on, you can do better than that," he said. He leaned closer and kissed me over and over until we heard Christine say, "DON'T. MAKE OUT. IN THE POOL!" I laughed and my forehead touched his mouth. He kissed it and then my cheek, then my jaw, then my neck.

"Come on, Matt," I said.

"Look at you two. You're almost like your old selves again," Christine said. Matt stopped and laid his cheek against mine and smiled.

"Yeah, we are, Essie, aren't we?" He said.

"I guess," I said.

"Smile, baby, you're pretty when you do," he said when I put my arm across his shoulders. I grinned and he kissed my cheek. I laid my head down on his shoulder, looking towards the side, not at Matt or anybody else. And then I felt Matt's body jerk.

"What the hell do you think you're doing here?!" I heard him yell. I looked up and sure enough, Cruise was standing in a t shirt and jeans smoking a cigarette.

"Oh shit," I said to myself.

"I need to talk to you two," he said.

"No you're gonna get your ass outta here, that's what you need to do!" Matt yelled.

"Look, we need to talk! I'm here to apologize!"

"Okay, you're sorry, I get it! Leave!"

"No, I have to-" I sat up.

"Cruise, please leave," I said. He stared at me hard for a while before inhaling his cigarette.

"Essie-"

"Leave, man!" Matt snapped.

"Let me talk!"

"I swear to God if you do not leave in the next five seconds there's gonna be more than twelve stitches in your forehead!"

"Give me two minutes, just two minutes!" Matt sighed.

"You got two minutes," he said.

"Look, I know what I did was really fucked up and I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry, and if there's anyway to make it up to you, I will try to do anything. I'm so sorry, and I just, I have no idea what the hell I was doing, and I can't even believe I did that and I was a real asshole and-"

"You got thirty seconds, pal."

"And I don't know what I'm doing but I just really need to tell you two that I'm extremely sorry and I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself," he said.

"Okay, that's it. You're done. Now leave!" Matt said. Cruise threw his cigarette down , stomped it out and walked away. Matt felt my neck.

"Okay, let's get you outta here and into bed. Your heartrate's through the roof."
