So y'all know me. I'm very hyper-fixated on Supernatural at all times, and I love the interwebs, and I love to laugh (*cough* and cry *cough*) about my fandoms, so, naturally, I have a tumblr account (@GabrielsBackBitches whoops shameless promotion so like follow me I'm almost at 1k) and I posted something about my boy Satan and how I didn't like that my entire feed was full of hate about him and I was scrolling through my posts to see who's responded to them and I just

Lucifer? Is? The? Bad? Guy?
Bad guys are dicks. That's their whole thing. Bad is in the name. It kind of pisses me off that everyone on tumblr hates Lucifer because he's tried to kill the boys a few times. So what? They always lived! Or, ya know, came back. It's not like the writers just ignore that he's the bad guy and say that everything he's doing is A-OK. Even when Lucifer tries to justify his actions, there's usually a rebuttal to it, like the writers want to insist that yes, he's the bad guy, and they're aware that he's the bad guy, and it doesn't make what he's doing okay.
BUT THE WINCHESTERS FUCK UP ALL THE DAMN TIME TOO AND IF THIS WHOLE SHOW HAD BEEN TOLD FROM LUCIFERS PERSPECTIVE IT WOULD ALL BE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED AND THE WINCHESTERS ARE THE BAD GUYS
I mean, the whole show starts with them chasing after the dad who didn't even send them a postcard when he up and left.
Then there's Sam drinking demon blood.
Then they let the devil out of the cage.
That's around the point when they stop giving a damn about human lives and straight up shoot the poor sons of bitches who got possessed by demons — turning on their own kind. Hell, Dean was on board with it even before Sam became a blood junkie. They turned on their own kind with little to no thought given to them.
They claim to care so much about everyone, family especially, but left their own half brother in Hell despite knowing what it's like down there.
Then there are the innocent monsters who don't want to hurt anyone. The vampire Amber Benson played that one time that Cas killed. The chick Dean killed that Sam liked. (I don't really remember these episodes tbh I rewatch the same ones over and over instead whoops)
Cas became "god" and killed a fuck ton of angels, and a bunch of humans who didn't do a whole lot wrong.
They could have closed the gates of Hell but fucking didn't because they're selfish af
I'm not gonna mention what Dean did with the mark cuz that's the mark, but Sam got it off him, despite knowing there would be consequences.
They listened to the BMOL's sales pitch, heard about the entire demon problem completely under control in Britain, and learned that they could do the same thing to America (and I know America is way bigger but they could have started in New England or something and expanded from there and easily could have covered the country) and didn't let them rid the country of the monsters they've spent so long fighting, as if they don't care about the end game because they just want to keep killing things.
And then there's Lucifer.
Lucifer, who noticed these flaws.
Lucifer, who merely wanted to raise awareness.
Lucifer, who was stabbed in the back by his own family and cast into hell.
Lucifer, who knew fighting Michael would be his only chance at living for long.
Lucifer, who never tried to deceive the Winchesters to get his vessel, despite the Winchesters playing tricks on him (um hello, rings?)
Lucifer, whojust wanted a chance to live like the rest of us.
I don't know, man. The Winchesters don't seem so good now. Maybe Lucifer isn't in the wrong.
