Chapter 21: The mystery behind the child

3rd Person POV

After Frisk, or should I say 'Mr. Dreamy', told the child what they wanted to know. The child seemed confused. "That's not how Ms. Dreamy is. I'm sure of it. Ms. Dreamy was very nice to me. Every time that crimson creature would return, she would tell me to go hide so it wouldn't hurt me. Even after the crimson creature beat up Ms. Dreamy, she would try and act strong, just for me! And when she suddenly disappeared, I started crying. Poor Ms. Dreamy... I wonder where she is right now!" The child said.

Frisk didn't have the heart to tell them what actually happened.

"We need to go find her, Mr. Dreamy! Please!" The child begged. This reminded Frisk of someone. Oh wait. It reminded him of himself. The child grabbed Frisk's hand and kept begging. Flowey, at this point, decided to not intervene. "Uh... O-Okay?" Frisk answered, not really sure if that was a correct answer or not. "Yay! Let's go, Mr. Dreamy!" The child said. Then, they went down the tower and explored in the shadows. "Uh, can you let go of my h-" Frisk started. "NO!" The child answered.

???'s POV

"So, how was your day?" They asked me. "It was fine. And you? Did you do anything while I was gone?" "How am I going to do things without a body." They pointed out the obvious. Guess it's an old habit of theirs. "You know, I could always just stop doing this and let you die for good." I said. They just stayed silent and looked away. "You need a haircut." I said, again. "Why are you telling ME to get a haircut? Just look at yourself in the mirror." They replied. They were right, I really needed a haircut. I've been here for so long that I somehow managed to grow hair. That's cool, I guess. "Now, how's my body doing?" They asked. "Your body is fine." I replied to them.

I keep forgetting their name and gender... That's why I've stopped using names and have resorted to "They" and "Their". And no, I'm not going to check. That's just plain rude. Also, they are watching me. I can't disrespect royalty just like that. I can tell that they are, or should I say were, a royal family member from their clothes. "Hey, are you done checking out my body?" They said. "I'm sorry." I replied. "Now, I think you should continue working." They recommended. And I went back to work.

The child's POV (They do have a name, it will show up later.)

I see a tall castle in front of me. Mr. Dreamy seems worried. "It's going to be fine, Mr. Dreamy!" I tell him. He seems to trust me. We secretly enter the castle and explore inside. Suddenly, I see the crimson creature. "Quick, Mr. Dreamy, hide before it finds us!" I tell Mr. Dreamy. "Is someone there?" The crimson creature asked. Silence. The creature then left. "We need to continue!" I said. Mr. Dreamy seems to be scared. "What did I tell you, Mr. Dreamy? Everything is going to be fine!". Mr. Dreamy seems to be talking to the flower about something. Then, we all continued to explore the castle.

"Hey, you!" A guard tells us. "You aren't allowed to be here. Now, scram!" The guard tells us, then kicks us out. "Aw." I said. "There was a reason I was so worried but it seems like they have forgotten about it." Mr. Dreamy says. "And what's that reason, Mr. Dreamy?" "They thought that I poisoned the prince." Mr. Dreamy tells me. "Is the prince a nice person?" I ask Mr. Dreamy, full of curiosity. "The prince isn't a very nice person. He'll do everything in his power to get what he wants. He would even frame someone innocent just to get what he wants." Mr. Dreamy tells me. "He probably deserved it." I tell Mr. Dreamy, and then we return to the tower, where Mr. Dreamy's camp is located.

(The child must be living in Imagination-Land or something.)
