"What-What are you doing here?"
Adrianna let out a small breath, pondering on whether to tell her. "I have some things to do. Am I not allowed to visit you?"
Allison chuckled, glancing around to make sure no one was paying attention to them. "This isn't exactly a town for vacation, you usually try and stay out of that."
Adrianna shrugged, she wanted to ask questions about her aunt but she wasn't too sure on how fresh the wound was and definitely didn't want to be the one to cut it open. She opted for a different question, "So what's meant to be a logo?"
Allison sighed and picked the cup up off the floor. "It's nothing"
"Allison"
Allison let out a nervous breath, she was just told her ramblings were crazy, she knew her cousin was more than supportive but she also needed logic. "It's just-" She unfolded her arm and showed the bruise. "Some strange woman gave this to my friend and I yesterday, it looks to me like a symbol."
Adrianna took her cousins forearm with gentle hands, a frown creasing along her forehead. "I mean-"
Allison sighed, pulling her arm from Adrianna's grasp and half turning in her seat. "Lydia!"
The red head Adrianna noticed before snapped her head in their direction, her eyebrows pulling together. Allison ushered her over to them.
"What?"
Allison stood up and grabbed Lydia's forearm, lining their bruises up. "See?"
Adrianna stood up, walking around the table. She did see it, once lined up. It wasn't much but it was something. And the symbol looked rather familiar. "Who was the woman who gave this to you?"
Allison dropped her arm and Lydia crossed hers over her chest, eyeing Adrianna up and down. "I don't know. She was looking for Scott-someone I know." Allison nearly forgot Adrianna didn't know who he was, the conversation just flowed so easy, like she had always been around.
"Who are you?" Lydia asked, slight irritation in her tone.
Adrianna looked at her, she definitely wasn't completely human. "I'm her cousin."
Lydia's frown didn't fade, "You never told me you had a cousin"
Allison sighed, "It's a-" She glanced up at Adrianna. "It's a long story." She turned and started to pack up her things.
Adrianna watched Allison pack up her things, subconsciously chewing on her lower lip. She needed to find out more, as much as she wanted to be around her cousin she could feel trouble brewing and she would rather stay out of it. "Actually, Allison. We need to talk."
Allison frowned, slinging her bag over her shoulder. She nodded and looked at Lydia, "I'll pick you up tomorrow?"
Lydia nodded and grabbed her bag, quickly leaving. At least she knew when to leave.
"What is it?"
Adrianna stuffed her hands in her pockets, "It's about Aunt Victoria."
---
"You felt her die?"
Adrianna rolled her eyes and pushed herself off the wall. "Yes. But I'm not connected to her, the only Argent i'm connected to is you."
Allison's frown deepened, her eyes staring at the desk. She understood but didn't at the same time. It didn't make sense.
"Could anything have provoked it?" Chris wondered.
Adrianna was still pissed at him but she did need his help. "It doesn't work like that."
"Well did anything strange happen before you felt it?" Allison offered
"No-" She stopped, her eyebrows drawing together, "Actually. I got a newspaper. It was from here, Beacon Hills."
"What did it say?"
Adrianna inhaled, "Uh something about victims of animal attacks."
Allison looked to Chris, "The Kanima"
Adrianna raised her eyebrows, "Kanima?"
Chris sighed, rubbing his temples. "That still doesn't fit. You got a newspaper from a town a thousand miles away, then you feel someone die that you're not connected to so you go to that town . . ." Chris slowly raised his eye line, his head cocking to the side ever so slightly.
"What?"
"Just a distant thought but it sounds like someone was trying to lure you here. Although I'm unsure of how did it."
Adrianna pushed herself off the wall, uncrossing her arms. That sorta fit.
"The question is how and why." Allison interjected.
"I think I can figure out the how part."
---
Adrianna stepped through the door to the small building, her senses catching a damn fine blow of testosterone and dominance. It was that familiar feeling she kept getting, from random people that seemed to keep popping up in her path. The voices immediately hushed, obviously alerted that someone had entered the building.
Deaton came around the corner, stopping in front of the small white gate. The shock was only momentary on his face but it was definitely there, everyone kept being surprised she was back.
"Adrianna, it's been a long time."
Adrianna gave a short nod, "It has"
"What do you need?"
Adrianna let out a nervous breath, she didn't want to talk about it with prying ears listening in. "I need to talk to you, in private."
A coughing was heard in the back and the shuffling of feet sounded. Adrianna smirked and Deaton replied with a smirk of his own. He knew she could put those boys into their place and he kinda would like to see it.
4 men walked out of the room, all stopping at the gate to see who was there.
Adrianna tried to push down her shock as she looked at the familiar black haired man and the guy she ran into at the hospital the other day. Why did she keep seeing them? The black haired man diverted his eyes from her gaze and pushed his hands into his pockets.
"I bumped into you at the hospital right?" The crooked jawline kid asked, his tone was light but weary.
Adrianna nodded. The only kid out of the three males that was human was the pale skinned one, the one holding confusion at his friends reaction to her. He opened the small gate and stepped forwards, "Well I'm Stiles, and obviously you've met Scott."
Adrianna cocked her head to the side, Scott. That's the name Allison said. She must know him, somehow.
The black haired man didn't introduce himself, he simply gave her a short nod and quickly left the building, his expression full of concentration. The only kid that was left was a boy with light brown curly hair and gorgeous eyes. Adrianna gulped, she felt something when their eyes met. He was different, the same inhuman feeling but something else lay buried. Like a pull when one is stuck in a current.
She snapped her eyes away from him before it was obvious she was staring.
Stiles inhaled, "We should go"
Adrianna nodded and stepped to the side, watching as Stiles exited with Scott and the blue-eyed boy closely behind. She turned and started to move towards Deaton but a voice stopped her.
"What's you name by the way?"
She spun around to see the blue eyed boy staring at her, a curious expression across his face. "Uh, Adrianna."
He nodded and offered a small smile, "I'm Isaac."
