Adrianna looked down to her hands, her head cocked to the side in question. If the eclipse had the ability to take away the wolves powers, did it take hers?
She teleported next to Scott and instant annoyance filled her. Her shoulders slumped in defeat. Damn."What-How did you do that?" Scott questioned, confused that he couldn't use his abilities yet she could.
Adrianna pulled her lips into a tight line, "You draw your power from the moon, I do not." She turned away from him to signal the end of the conversation, she didn't want him asking questions about that, about any of that.
Scott frowned, eyes squinting and straining to see something amongst the fog and heavy wind rolling about outside. He took a step forwards.
Adrianna turned to see what he was looking at. A figure, a strong, confident figure was walking towards them. As they got closer, she could see black raggedy clothes, a bald, pale flesh with scars running all through the skin. It was Jennifer. It was the Darach in it's true form.
Scott eyes widened as it suddenly appeared in front of him and threw him back into a bunch of metal tanks.
It turned to Adrianna and grabbed her arm, twisting it back and dislocating it. Adrianna screamed, gasping for air as her shoulder throbbed and her heart hammered. The Darach launched her forwards and sent her crashing into a bunch of boxes and crates.
It went for Deucalion next, picking him up by the throat and holding him above her head. It flipped him over and watched him crash into the ground with a smack. It sped over to him and grabbed his hair, smashing the back of his head against the pavement whilst a pool of dark blood formed.Deucalion yelled in agony, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as it continued the horrific assault.
"Jennifer. He doesn't know." Derek suddenly voiced up, standing up from wherever he was hiding.
"Know what?" It's voice was twisted too. It was as if a thousand people were speaking at once, all saying the same words.
"What you really look like." Derek answered.
The Darach looked down to Deucalion, the pathetic man the lunar eclipse has forced him to be.
"He knows the cost of bring Kali into his pack, but he's never seen the price you paid." Derek convinced in attempt to neutralise the situation.
The Darach looked around at the orange room before looking back down to Deucalion. The hurt and ghosts from its past evident in its small eyes. "No. No he hasn't."
It lowered itself to its knees and placed its hand over his eyes. It closed its eyes to concentrate, using its's power to show him what her life had been like, what he did to her.Deucalion suddenly started screaming. It filled the space of the metal room and sounded as if he were being tortured.
Adrianna pushed herself into a sitting position, holding her arm as tight and close to her body as possible. It was killing her and she needed to put it back into place soon.
Deucalions screaming ceased. The Darach removed its hand from his eyes and stood back up.
Deucalion frowned, looking around the room as his eyes adjusted. He could see. He could see the timber ceiling, the stacks of shelves and crates and boxes, the dull orange that covered the room from the eclipse. He could see everything.
"Turn to me." The Darach instructed.
Deucalion refused to look, acting as if he hadn't heard her. He didn't want to see what he had done.
"Turn to me!" It yelled.
Deucalions breathing quickened, nearly to the point of hyperventilation. He slowly turned his head to face the monstrosity towering above him. That's the Darach, that's the beast that wanted to kill him? He closed his eyes and opened them again. It had turned back into Jennifer Blake, the woman it was pretending to be.
Jennifer's lips pressed into a firm, furious line and she brought her arm back, preparing to swing at him. It was his time. After all she worked for, the moment was finally here.
She suddenly stumbled, swaying to the side before falling back.Derek caught her before she fell to the ground, his hands tightly gripping her.
"What is this?" Jennifer asked softly, her voice weak.
"Healing him made you weak, just like healing Cora did to me. You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes." Derek explained.
"Then you do it. Kill him." Jennifer begged, her eyes desperate. That's all she wanted, that's all she had been building up her strength for. She just wanted the man who made her what she is dead.
"No."
Jennifer's eyes pulled into a frown as she started to stand up herself and pull away from Derek. He was meant to help her, he was meant to be in place of the parents. "What?"
"Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator, but I don't have to be a killer." Derek wrapped his hand around Jennifer's throat and pressed down, his anger returned and sizzled. "Let them go."
Jennifers face contorted into one of absolute fury. She found her strength and pushed Derek back into a block of crates. She walked towards him with a cold fury and slapped him, again, and again, and again until his cheek was a light pink. She leaned forwards, gripping his shirt in her fists as her face softened. Her bottom lip quivered slightly as the feelings he brought out in her surfaced. She wanted him to be on her side, she wanted him to believe in what she was doing. "Derek." But he never would, he would always see her as a killer and for that reason, she would never let him be close to her again.
She straightened her back and turned away from him, a smirk crossing her lips. Now she would kill Deucalion, now that demon wolf would get what he deserved.Derek pulled himself to his feet, swaying slightly as his head throbbed from the pain his healing would usually fix. He wouldn't let her kill Deucalion, no matter how much he hated that wolf. It wasn't right.
Jennifer slowly turned around, clearly surprised by his efforts to protect this man.
Derek ran at her but she grabbed him and slammed him against a large water tank. She slammed his back against it so hard Adrianna swore she heard bones breaking. She slammed him against it, again, and again, and again, and again, watching as his face filled with pain and eyes clenched shut.Adrianna could feel every bruise forming on his back, the throbbing of his skin, the bones cracking. And yet he persisted, he let her slam him against it, blow after blow.
She pulled herself to her feet and looked down at her left hand, gritting her teeth together. She placed her hand over her dislocated shoulder and tensed her muscles, the purple energy gather around her hand and shoulder like dancing fire, and she yanked her hand away from the shoulder.
A yell nearly escaped her and she stumbled forwards, the bone in her shoulder sliding back into place.Adrianna's eyes rose to the window high up on the wall. The moon, it was turning white again, the orange was fading, the lunar eclipse was over. That was his strategy, endure pain long enough for his strength to come back, long enough to be stronger than her. She looked back to Derek and Jennifer to see that Derek had grabbed her throat, his eyes glowing a bright blue. "Your 15 minutes are up."
