"And you weren't connected to her?" Deaton asked, a frown laced deeply within the creases of his forehead.
Adrianna rolled her eyes and shook her head, "No. Allison is the only Argent I am connected to. My body doesn't just make connections with people."
Deaton stood up and straightened his back. "This is quite peculiar Adrianna. Although I think Chris is correct in saying that you were lead here." He took in a deep breath, his eyes thoughtful, "You're the only one of your kind to exist, there's not exactly much research to find an explanation for what happened."
Adrianna sighed and stood up as well. She needed answers and she wanted them as quickly as she could get them. Going to Deaton was worth a try. "I know. I just don't want to be here too long."
Deaton frowned, not of confusion, but rather curiosity. "Why?"
Adrianna took in a stiff breath, looking around the small building. "I feel something Deaton, something is about to happen, if it hasn't already. You know I don't want to go back into that world."
Deaton chuckled lightly, "You never really left."
Adrianna offered a small smile, her eyes drifting to the arch way that led to the lobby. Those kids wouldn't leave her mind. They weren't human and they were all plagued with emotions they so greatly wished to rid themselves off. And for some strange reason, something was itching at her to find out more, what their stories were. "Those boys that were here earlier, how do you know them?"
Deaton smiled, settling back down on the stool. "Scott McCall, the dark haired kid, he works for me."
"And I suppose all his friends work for you too?"
Deaton shook his head, the smile remaining on his lips. She hated that smile, he always knew things before she did and never told her until he thought it was necessary to. "No. They kind of come in a package."
Adrianna sat herself back down, her mind racing with questions ready to ask. She felt so intrigued about those boys, and it sort of scared her. "So what are they?"
Deaton bit his lip, she was more intuitive of others since the last time he saw her. Her powers must have grown. "Scott and Isaac are werewolves, betas."
Adrianna's eyebrows rose, she hadn't met any werewolves for a time. It was strange to see them so young and so new. "What about the older man?"
"Derek Hale? He's the same, of alpha status."
Adrianna frowned, Derek Hale. That name, it rang so many bells. Something was trying to surface but it just wouldn't. The way he reacted to her was strange, the way his features somehow softened when he saw her. It all confused her and furthermore, pissed her off.
"What is it?" Deaton prompted after a few moments of curious silence.
Adrianna raised her eyes to him, "Derek. He's familiar but i don't know how. I don't know him but i feel—" She trailed off, uncertain how to explain it. Her thought ran amuck like a hurricane.
"What do you feel?"
"I-I don't know. It's sort of like when my mind makes a connection with someone."
"Is it possible that could be what's happening?"
Adrianna shook her head, her lips pulling into a straight line. "I can't make a connection with a stranger. The person has to be rather significant."
Deaton nodded, his eyes carefully watching hers, trying to figure out what she was thinking, what was trying so hard to be let out. He had a few theories of his own that sadly, might be more truthful than he'd like to admit.
"What about the other one? Uh, Isaac?"
Deaton shrugged, "Turned by Derek. He's-" Deaton paused, fishing for the right word. His eyes drifted to the ice cubs that had melted on the floor by the window. "Interesting."
Adrianna nodded, Isaac, he definitely seemed interesting.
"And Stiles, the pale one, he's just human?"
"Very much so. But he's Scotts best friend and actually fairly smart for a boy of his age."
Adrianna pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, her eyes focused on the metal bench. Scott, Stiles, Isaac and Derek. Strange people. Strange yet enticing people.
Why would a bunch of teenagers be involved with this world, the one from nightmares?A strange question popped into her head as she thought about the twins she saw Lydia with in the library. "The alpha pack, they're here aren't they?"
Deaton slowly nodded, "Yes. Have you met the twins yet?"
Adrianna frowned, "Not formally, I have seen them at the high school though. Why are they there?"
Deaton shrugged, "They want Scott. We're not too sure what their plan is yet."
A phone suddenly started ringing throughout the sullen silence of the room. It took Adrianna a moment to realise it was hers. "Yes?"
"I need your help"
Adrianna wasn't too sure who was more shocked at that statement, Allison or herself.
"I know you don't want to be here long and especially don't want to get dragged into the mess that is this town but, I can't sit back."
Adrianna sighed and got to her feet, she heard the pleading in her cousins tone, the worry. She shook her head, she was so going to regret this. "What do you need?"
