The black car pulled up the entrance to the school, it's bright lights illuminating the parking lot. Allison, Adrianna and Isaac got out of the car, walking inside the doors and into the halls of Beacon Hills High.
They quietly entered the hall, music filling the room as people watched on eagerly. Adrianna spotted the back of Scott and Lydias heads. She went to walk towards them.
A warm hand suddenly grabbed hers, pulling her back slightly. She turned to look at Isaac with a frown.
"We need to talk."
Adrianna let out a small breath, "Later." She offered a small smile, realising his harsh that might've sounded, and continued to walk towards Scott. "Chris isn't the Darach. He's just been tracking it."
Scott looked to her and slowly nodded, "And Mr. Westover?"
Adrianna shook her head, "We were too late." She couldn't help but to let Cora's words ring through her head. She had no doubt they were true, she just hated that they were.
"We're gonna figure this out." Scott whispered.
Adrianna sighed, "I hope so."
Stiles slipped through the crowd and stood next to them, giving Scott a firm nod. He looked to Adrianna, his eyes softening.
"What?" Adrianna snapped.
Stiles eyebrows pulled together, his head cocking to the side ever so slightly. "Haven't you heard?"
"Heard what?"
Stiles looked up to Scott, his frown deepening. He looked back to Adrianna, "About Cora. She's in the hospital. Her head wound was worse than we thought . . . ."
Adrianna's mouth nearly dropped to the floor. Cora's in the hospital, her healing isn't working. How come know one has told her. She's been so busy. Oh my god. Is she okay? She had to go and see her.
Scott was suddenly frantically looking around. Adrianna could feel his stress and anxiety building. She snapped away from her thoughts and looked over to him, "Scott, what is it?"
"Lydia's gone."
It didn't take long before they were pushing through the crowd in search of her. She wasn't anywhere. How the hell could she just disappear?
They left the auditorium and ran down the hall, bursting through the double doors that led outside.
"Lydia!"
"Lydia!"
Scott looked around carefully, switching to his werewolf vision in case they could see something he usually wouldn't be able to.
"Anything?" Stiles asked.
Scott shook his head.
Stiles grabbed his phone, "She's not answering texts. What do we do?"
Adrianna looked around, her eyebrows pulling together. Something was wrong, she could feel it. That wall again, that block. It felt like it was surrounding her, nearly suffocating her.
Then she heard it. It was so loud and thrilling that she had to cover her ears with her hands. It was like a ghost pushing through her, directing the feeling to a specific place. A scream. The banshees call. Lydia.
"Scott? Adrianna?"
The scream stopped but Adrianna could still feel it. She didn't bother listening to Stiles or to check on Scott, she took off back inside. Her legs pushed her faster and faster to get to the place her powers were screaming at her to go.
Scott flew past her with his wolf speed, obviously following his own lead. He disappeared ahead of her but she soon heard his roar. He was pissed.
Adrianna turned a corner and came across a classroom. She halted in the doorway, her eyes flying to the Sherriff kneeling on the ground with a knife in his shoulder. She looked over to Scott, he was fighting someone, a woman. As she flew him across the room, causing him to crash into a stack of chairs, Adrianna could see her face.
Jennifer Blake.
She bloody knew it. The wall, the feeling, Derek. She was the darach. She was the one sacrificing innocent people, murdering them for her own survival. Adrianna's fists clenched in rage.
Jennifer pushed a desk up against the other door, blocking Stiles from entering. He started banging against the door.
She turned to Adrianna, her head cocked to the side. "I've heard about you. The witch. I'm honestly shocked you didn't pick me out earlier. Guess you've lost your touch."Adrianna ran towards her but was suddenly thrown through the air, crashing into the same chairs as Scott. She felt one of the metal arms pierce through her shoulder before she slammed into the ground.
She groaned, rolling onto her back as her other hand flew to her now bleeding shoulder. Well, she underestimated the darach.
"There was a girl. Years ago, we found her in the woods, her face and body slashed apart. That was you, wasn't it?" The Sherriff started to explain through puffs of breath.
"Maybe I should have started with philosophers, with knowledge and strategy." Jennifer started walking towards the Sherriff.
He fired a bullet at her leg. Jennifer yelled, looking down to the wound. The skin moulded over and the blood disappeared as if it were never there. How the hell.
"Healers . . . ."
The Sherriff was suddenly yelling. He was off the ground and slammed against the chairs.
"Warriors . . . ."
Jennifer tore his Sherriff badge from his uniform, crushing it between her hands and letting the piece of metal drop to the ground like it was worthless. "Guardians . . . . Virgins."
Scott was suddenly lifting Adrianna off the ground as the sound of glass shattering was heard. He held her waist, attempting to be careful of her shoulder.
Adrianna flicked her wrist, the purple energy appearing around her hand and the desk before it flew from the door, allowing Stiles into the room.
He ran forwards, "Dad?"
They all looked towards the shattered window, their eyes slightly wide. Jennifer had taken the Sherriff. He was going to be the next sacrifice.
