"I know where they are."
"Same building as the Argents, we know." Derek answered, briefly looking up from the pile of maps and papers on the table.
"I met Deucalion on the way to Allisons." Adrianna clarified.
"Then they want you to know." Scott pressed, walking down the steps and towards the group huddled around the table.
"Or, more likely, they don't care." Peter suggested.
Scott looked down at the blueprints on the table, his eyebrows furrowing together. "What is this?"
"Isn't it obvious? The schemers are scheming, coming up with a coup de main, better known as a pre-emptive strike."
Scott looked to Derek, his big brown eyes wide. "You're going after them?"
Derek straightened his back, crossing his arms over his chest. "Tomorrow. And you're gonna help us."
The car jumped over a bump, awakening Adrianna from her pained slumber. She pushed herself up from leaning against the window, only for her energy to deflate as she fell against the back of the seat. She re-opened her eyes slightly to meet Lydia's concerned ones eyeing her.
"I'm fine."
"You don't look fine."
Adrianna sighed, moving her hand to an extremely tender spot on her waist where it already felt a bit wet. She pulled her jacket to the side a bit more, her eyes finding the blood soaking through her shirt. She covered it back up and rested her head back. "I'll be fine."
Lydia looked to her wound again, shaking her head slightly before turning back to the front and muttering something to Allison.
Adrianna took in a deep breath, attempting to push herself up more on the seat so she could sit in a slightly more comfortable position. "Are you sure this is the right thing to do?"
"We need to make sure Scotts going to be okay and we're not allowed on that bus because we aren't on the lacrosse team so-" Allison took in a deep breath which was supposed to give her confidence and even out the buzzing stress. "Yes, this is the right thing to do."
Adrianna nodded slightly, feeling the pull of unconsciousness already begging to take her once more. She just wanted to rest at home but, Allison was worried about Scott and neither of them would let her stay alone whilst in this state. So riding in a car would be way better for her wounds right now. But she did want to keep an eye on Isaac, she didn't want him to get to not a fight he couldn't win. She took in a deep breath to try to calm her mind and let her eyes close over.
"They're one floor above them, in the penthouse, right above Allison." Derek explained.
"So kill them first, that's the plan?" Scott questioned.
"They won't even see it coming." Boyd convinced.
"Why is the default plan always murder? Just once, can someone try to come up with something that doesn't involve killing everyone?" Scott accused, his eyes full of hurt and the need to protect even his enemies.
"You never get tired of being so blandly moral, do you?" Peter looked to Derek, "Not that I disagree with him."
"I do." Cora spoke up, she looked Scott up and down. "Why do we need this kid?"
"This kid helped save your life." Derek knocked her down a few notches. "And you know we can't just sit back and wait for them to make the first move."
"You can't beat a pack of alphas." Scott pointed out.
"That's why we're going after Deucalion, just him." Cora answered.
"Cut off the head of the snake, and the body dies." Boyd attempted to convince again.
"I'm all for going after Deucalion, but I have to admit Derek, this plan is kinda really bad." Adrianna spoke up, receiving a proud look from Scott.
"And, this isn't a snake, it's a hydra. And like Scott says, they're all alphas." Peter admitted.
"Deucalion's still the leader." Derek tried.
Peter looked at his nephew, "Let's hope so. Because you know what happened when Hercules cut of one of the heads of the hydra?"
"Two more grew back in it's place." Scott finished for him.
Peter looked to Scott, a small smirk etching onto his face. "Someones been doing their summer reading."
Lydia slowly put the textbook down that she was randomly reading and highlighting. "So is that whole not letting them out of your sight thing literal or more like a general rule?"
"Why?"
"You're running on fumes."
Allison peered over the wheel at the dashboard to see the tank nearly empty, they wouldn't last much longer. "Ugh!"
"Yeah. And I'm pretty sure that bus holds a lot more gas than this Toyota."
"What if we stop?" Allison suggested.
"Is it really that big of a deal?" Lydia looked back down to her textbook, her eyes scanning for her place in the paragraph where she left off. "I mean, so we loose them. We know where they're headed."
Allison looked out the window, at the darkening clouds looming in the sky. She shook her head, "You didn't see what happened." She glanced back at Adrianna whom was half awake.
"I know who started it." Lydia muttered, highlighting something on the page.
Allison cocked her head ever so lightly, "Is that what Aiden told you?"
"Aiden?" Lydia looked to her best friend with raised eyebrows. "Woah woah woah-" She chuckled, rolling her head back on the headrest. "Hold on a second. Is that why you invited me on this whole little road trip thing?" Allison kept her eyes on the road. "Oh my gosh. You're keeping an eye on them and me."
Allison glanced at Lydia, eyeing her reaction to this revelation. "So there's nothing going on between you two?"
"I'm appalled by the insinuation."
Allison smirked, she didn't answer her question. "Nothing?"
Lydia slapped her hand against the textbook, "Nothing." She grabbed her lipstick from her handbag that rested at her feet and started to slowly apply it to her lips, her eyes dazing off to a memory.
Allison looked to Lydia, her eyebrows raised. She so didn't believe her.
Lydia frowned, looking to Allison. "What?" She clicked the cap back on the tube and tucked it away back in the bag.
Allison suddenly slammed on the breaks, causing Adrianna to fall forwards.
She hissed as her skin twisted and her wound burst back to life."That's why you wear a seatbelt." Lydia mocked.
Adrianna groaned, lifting herself back onto the seat rather carefully. "If I could wear a seatbelt, don't you think i would?" She rested her head against the window again, her eyes peering out to see the mile of cars stacked up ahead of them. Great.
