Adrianna flew down the street, her breath evenly going in and out of her lungs as she ran. The sun was just rising over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the town.

Her mind was racing, trying to push through thoughts she'd rather not think about.
Like how she somehow had lost her whole memory of her childhood and now she has this connection with the Hales that's so alive it's like she never lost it.
And like how she wants to rip Deucalion's fangs out with her bare hands but she had an unsettling feeling. He would be too hard to get alone.
And how there is a Darach kidnapping and sacrificing innocent people and they were no where no close to figuring out who it was, who would need that power.
And how Scott is about a breath away from figuring her out, he just has to speak to the right person and click all the pieces together.
And not to mention that she's been avoiding Isaac as much as she can and she has no idea why. It's like a fire that's resting in her, waiting, and whenever she sees him it comes to life.

Adrianna slowed to a stop, bending over and heaving in air. Her eyebrows furrowed as she half turned to see how far she had ran. Damn, that had to have been a good few blocks. She sucked in a few more breaths before straightening her back.

"Ran too far?"

Adrianna spun around to see Isaac standing at the end of a driveway, his beautiful blue eyes swirling with curiosity. She looked around, fumbling for an answer. "I guess I did."

He chuckled, looking down to the pavement.

Adrianne's eyebrows drew together as she looked behind the boy. He was standing in front of Scott's house. Why was he standing there? He wouldn't be visiting Scott this early. "Uhm, you live with Scott?"

Isaac glanced back at the house, he stuffed his hands in his pockets as he turned back to her. "Apparently."

Adrianna raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms over her chest. "Apparently?"

Isaac chuckled, "It's a long story."

Adrianna nodded, she knew all about long stories. She had a lot of them. She nodded once more, realising she was still standing there. "I should probably go." She looked him over once more, her eyes catching his for just a second that she thought she might pass out. They were captivating.
She turned and prepared to start running again.

"Wait-"

Her body stilled and turned back around despite her not wanting to. She hated this feeling, this nervousness and an unknowing on what to do or say or how to act around this goddamn boy.

Isaac had moved closer to her, "i uh, I have a question I've kinda been wanting to ask."

Adrianna frowned, she hoped he didn't ask her what she thought he would. Or maybe she did.

"Why didn't you leave?"

Adrianna couldn't help her mouth part a little and her eyebrows raise in shock. That was not the questions she was expecting. She wasn't even sure exactly how to answer it.

"I mean, you said a few weeks ago at the school that you were going to leave. And then you didn't, and you helped us with-" He chuckled, nervously maybe, or perhaps graciously. "You helped us with a lot. So I guess I'm just curious. What made you stay?"

Adrianna turned her body so she was properly facing him. She shrugged, she wasn't too sure exactly what made her stay. She just wanted to protect her cousin, and help Scott with the burden he seems to be carrying, and maybe even figure out herself in the process. "I'm not sure exactly. I just, i guess I wanted to protect my family."

"Are they your only family?"

Adrianna dragged in a long breath of the cold morning air, "Yeah. You could say I'm a bit protective of them."

Isaac chuckled, his smile lightening up his features and making his eyes swirl like an ocean, one she was sure she was getting pulled into. "A little bit?"

Adrianna found herself smiling too, "Look, I'm sorry about that. I know it wasn't your fault."

Isaac shrugged, "You had every right to be protective. I could've killed her."

Adrianna pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, watching this boy with curious eyes. He was troubled, he had a past that has ruined him, yet shaped him into who he is. She felt she could read him, his emotions, so much better than everyone else.

"Can I ask another question?"

Adrianna raised her eyebrows, crossing her arms over her chest. She had no idea how long they had been standing in this driveway, talking, but she didn't want the conversation to end. She felt nearly unburdened whilst they talked. "Why not."

Isaac gave a curt nod, "Where you born here? In Beacon Hills?"

A small smile found a way to her lips, out of all the questions that she was sure were burning his mind, he asked that one. Curious. "Yes i was."

"So why did you leave?"

And there it was. She sighed, "It's complicated." She cocked her head to the side, "Why are you so curious to find out everything about me?"

Isaac shrugged, she felt his embarrassment. He generally want to know about her, and he wanted to be with her, to talk and get to know her. That was an emotion she's never felt before. "Maybe I just want to get to know you. Maybe I just want an excuse to talk to you at 6 am in the morning."

A ridiculous grin broke out on Adriannas lips, her heart swelled. She quickly looked down to hide her stupid expression. What the hell is wrong with her. "Well, speaking of it being 6:00. I should go."

Isaac nodded.

Adrianna gave him a small smile, her whole body felt alive. She could run another forever with this amount of energy. She turned and started to run off.

"I expect to hear about that complicated story later!" Isaac yelled after her.

Adrianna laughed, a genuine laugh that vibrates throughout her whole body. That boy was crazy and she loved every bit of it. The way they just talked for at least close to an hour at 6:00 in the morning, the way the conversation flowed so easily, how she nearly slipped up on every secret she holds. Maybe she would tell him her story.
