"Kook where are you? I'm already in the courtyard." Seulgi shut her phone aggressively after getting her message through voicemail to Jungkook. Who even uses voicemail anymore?
Impatiently, she tapped her foot against the bright grass as she watched students leave to go out or back to their apartments. It was Friday and she was getting really annoyed. She pressed the lock button to illuminate the phone screen which read 4:52.
They were going to be late.
"Seulgi!" She spun around where she spied a frantic brunet running from the top of the stairs. He stopped by her at the bottom, panting. "Sorry. It's been a month at school and I'm already missing deadlines." She smiled at his bent over form, still trying to catch his breath. "Let's go, we're gonna be late."
She's gotten really comfortable around Jungkook, going out with him for breakfast and staying with him after school to go to dance. After Jimin's outburst nearly a month ago, she kept her distance, worried that if she were to care again, he would push her away and hurt her again.
They would exchange occasional 'hi's and 'I'm back's but that's about it. They weren't as close as Seulgi would've wanted, but she couldn't help that.
The two dancers reached the studio at 4:59, just in time for dance.
"Alright then, let's stretch. Seulgi, how are your splits coming along?" Ms. Eli smiled expectantly, a certain glint in her eye that made Seulgi shiver.
She'd forgotten all about them.
Jungkook has coached her on how to stretch splits, explaining how he used to help Jimin when they were dance acquaintances in high school. But she never got them down.
"I can help." The boy voiced when he saw how frozen Seulgi was next to him. "The coaching has kind of helped, but I think we need to try something else." He smirked.
"What do you mean?" The girl was broken out her trance when she heard the mischievousness in his voice. Jungkook took her hand in his, electricity tingling his fingertips as vibrantly as they were shocking Seulgi's. "Jungkook..."
"Here." They resided to a small corner of the studio, away from the others and hidden as much as they could be. "Sit in your splits."
"Kook-" She trailed off, anxious about what he was going to do. She slid her right foot forwards until she reached the farthest her legs could go. There wasn't much space left, but she still couldn't reach the floor. She was facing the floor to ceiling windows, so she looked on across the city to distract her for the strain in her hips.
Jungkook stepped over her back leg and took a deep breath. He couldn't deny the growing feelings he was getting for her. She treated him better that Taehyung had ever and he finally felt like someone appreciated him. His fingers shook slightly so he clenched them into gentle fists to calm them down, before laying his palms on her shoulders.
"Legs straight." His tone was soft, overwhelmed by the feel of her soft locks brushing against the back of his hands. She obeyed, straightening her legs, leaving space between her knees and the floor.
She couldn't deny the underlying affection that was intensifying to something higher than friends between the two either.
He pressed firmly on her shoulder, moving her hips down. Wincing, she squeezed her eyes shut tight, willing the pain to go, until suddenly, she felt something different.
Her hips had touched the floor.
"Okay." Jungkook released her from his grip and she immediately bounced out of the split and pulled her legs together, shaking the pain away. He laughed, his cheeks dusted a light pink, flustered by how pretty she was, even if she was lying on her back, shaking her legs, the dimples in her cheeks deepening as she laughed.
"I did it!" She grinned at him and he smiled back, pulling her up to her feet. But her smile faltered when she realised that the rest of the class was looking at them. Intense social anxiety.
"Are you guys together?" Blurted Lisa, suspicion clear in her voice. There was no doubt she had wanted to pair with Jungkook, after all, he was really good looking.
"No!" They both shouted, cheeks growing even warmer when they bumped shoulders, realising how close they were.
"Hm." Lisa rolled her eyes, but there was a small tilt to her lips.
They'd be cute together.
After dance, they had dinner together again, but at a different restaurant.
"I can't believe Mr. Key forbid us from going to Burger King anymore." Seulgi whined, slurping hot seaweed soup from her bowl. "But this isn't bad either." They both laughed and ate in a comfortable silence, their tired out bodies desperate for some food.
After dinner, Jungkook walked her back to her apartment.
"So, here we are again. Time to part." Jungkook sighed as he stood across from Seulgi, her dark ponytail drifting with the wind, her bangs brushing right above her brow. They stood just to the right of th glass doors that opened to the lobby of Seu
"Yeah." She asked, trying ignoring the increasing speed of her heartbeat as the two of them stood close, almost invisible to the passerby's.
"Hm." The boy was distracted by his burning cheeks and the innocent doe eyes that looked at him fondly, like he was something. Without much thought, he slipped his arm smoothly around her slim waist and pulled her towards him. He could tell she was shocked, because she tried to say something, but it was muffled when he softly connected both their pink lips.
By exhaustion or affection, Seulgi doesn't know what, she leans into his kiss, heart thumping against her ribs. It's warm and welcoming, one she's never had before. His other hand reaches up and rests on the back of her neck as she brings her arms around his waist, tilting up to face the boy better. Chest to chest, they could feel the light tension that lingered between them for the past month or so break as they held connected for a while longer. The stars danced in the cloudless sky above them, showering them with a soft light. When they finally broke apart, Seulgi leaned her head against Jungkook's chest as he lay his head on top of her raven hair that had a sweet rose aroma to it.
"Finally." Jungkook chuckled, his voice low and grumbly, music to the girl's ears. She didn't want to say anything, the rhythm of the boy's breathing soothing. It was a perfect moment, a little too perfect. Instantly, an image of Jimin lying on their sofa, washed with sunlight with his boxy glasses popped up in her mind. It disturbed her, the fact that she was even thinking about Jimin now. Casting away the thought, she sighed, content with who she has in her arms.
Not wanting it to end, Seulgi held tighter onto the other's built form as he pulled away.
"Seulgi." He laughed, taking her arms and unravelling them from around him. "I have to go, and so do you."
"Awww." She whined, a little pout forming on her face as she silently begged him to stay.
"You can't come over to mine, you know that. And I can't go back to yours." The boy pulled her into a quick tight hug again as her thoughts wandered to when Jimin told her that it was Jungkook with Taehyung that night. Once again, she forced herself out of those thought that sent shivers down her spine.
"Fine." The raven haired brought her hands up to tighten her ponytail and shrugged her bag strap up her shoulder. "See you." She turned and pushed a door open.
"Wait!" She spun around, Jungkook looking after her with dark irises. She could swear she saw a fleck of gold too. "Is this," - he gestured between their two bodies - "Is it happening?" He swallowed, worried that she would push him away just like Taehyung did.
"I don't know," Her tone was confused, but there was a tilt to her mouth. "Is it?"
Jungkook scoffed, a smile growing on his own lips as he stepped towards her again. He took her hands in his and both their hearts stopped.
"Kang Seulgi, will you be my girlfriend?" He spoke seriously, but there was a softness in his tone.
"You're such a drama king." Seulgi rolled her eyes with a wider smile, one where her dimples were clear, but didn't ignore the rapid thump of her heart. "But yes. I will."
HAHAHA
