"And 5, 6, 7-
"KANG SEULGI!" Everyone froze, startled out of their minds. Except Jeongin who tripped over his own toes and slipped, luckily only bumping into Jisung. "You're a half beat out, focus okay sweetie?" Ms. Eli changed from white rage to blue cool as she clasped her hands together and leaned back again. "From the top."
Seulgi wasn't focusing that class. In fact she hadn't been focusing for the past 3 weeks. Her dance instructors took turns in screaming and cooling down, that allowed her to focus for approximately 3.6 seconds before she went back to barely following the beat, her natural dancers limbs pulling her through the steps.
Finally the end of class arrived and the crew were wiping sweat away with their sleeves or bending over to grab their colourful water bottles. Irene and Seulgi plopped down by their bags, tilting their heads backwards, dark hair sweeping against their backs.
"Hey guys." Both girls turned, still drinking water but Irene choked when she saw who it was.
"I'm-" cough, "just-" cough, "gonna-" double cough, "go." A couple more coughs and chest clearings later she stood and gathered her stuff. "See you tomorrow."
"Irene-" Before Seulgi could protest, her best friend slipped out of the studio, dark ponytail swinging, still coughing, and as the door closed she turned to the boy standing beside her. "Oh hi."
"Hey." Hoseok smiled brightly before extending his hand to the ravenette who took it gratefully as she picked up her neon Nike bag. "Wanna have dinner?"
Instinctively, she peered around the studio for Jungkook, but of course, he wasn't waiting for her anymore. "Sure."
The two headed down to a sushi restaurant that lay around the corner from the square.
"So, you broke up with Jungkook?" Hoseok asked, not looking her in the eye, scanning the menu for anything appealing.
"Yeah." Seulgi furrowed her brows, following in reading her own piece of card. They sat in silence until the waitress came to take their orders. Each ordered some food and water and as the young girl walked away Hoseok started again.
"Why?" He clasped his hands and rested his chin on them, eager to get an answer.
"Uh," Completely caught off guard, Seulgi sighed and bit her lower lip. She wasn't very close to the red head, but they hung out in the same group of people, which made them a little more than acquaintances. "Well, we fought."
"Fights happen all the time." He said nonchalantly, still watching her carefully.
"It was different." She replied, a little harsher than intended. "He got in a fight with Tae, then he completely ignored me, then when I finally asked him why, he got pissed at me." Her tone was getting redder and her mind fuzzy as she recalled herself screaming at him on that day. "Then he ignored me. Again."
"Ah." Hoseok unclasped his hands and lay them flat on the table, palms against the soft red fabric of the table cloth. "But you didn't break up with him over anger did you?"
"Wha-"
"You broke up with him because you like someone else. Or you were scared he would've broken up with you first."
"He told me he was going to." Seulgi countered.
"Ah, but he wasn't." Hoseok smiled again, a dimple popping up in his right cheek. "He wanted to reconcile."
"How do you know? You weren't even there."
"Because, dear child, I've known the boy since he was 15. I've seen him around girls and when he came over a couple of weeks back, shoulders slumped, eyes empty, I knew something was wrong." Seulgi stayed silent, so he continued. "He wasn't entirely upset," -Seulgi winced internally- "But he was confused. He's unsure of something, and I'm pretty sure you're part of it."
"I don't understa-"
"I'm just saying, he has something pent up in his chest, something that's eating away at him and it's about you. Maybe you should talk to him." The girl slumped in her seat as the waitress came back to deliver their sushi.
"Okay." She said softly, determined to talk to Jungkook one of these days.

"Hey did you get the text?" Jimin flopped backwards onto her bed, phone light beaming onto his perfect features after bursting through her door just seconds before. The moonlight that night was particularly clear that night, so Seulgi decided to slide her sheer white curtains aside and shut the lights, making a more relaxing and peaceful atmosphere in her room.
"About what?" She asked dully, sitting facing her window, toes brushing against the smooth wood floor under her feet.
"The party at Namjoon hyung's place. It's next Saturday, before everyone gets cramped with finals revision." He's tried to be lighter, happier lately, to help Seulgi get through her breakup, but nothing seemed to be working. He tilted his head to peer at hers, the white light spilled across her perfect skin, from her ebony eyes to her dancers arms, the visible lines of her muscles shadowing her skin.
She's perfect.
But that night she was empty, confused just like Jungkook. Why was he confused? What was he going through? She wished he would've told her everything, but she knew from the start that he wouldn't.
What did he say?
"I'm not a good guy. Not for you."
What did he mean by that?
He was perfect.
"Do you wanna go?" A soft voice popped her out of her thoughts for the millionth time that month. Sometimes it was annoying, how happy Jimin suddenly was, but she knew he was doing it for her.
"Yeah, okay." She sighed, turning down to him, attempting a weak smile.
"Cool." He sat up and stood to go to the door. "Night Seulgi."
"Night."
He left the room, heart cracking, just like every other night he left her room. He was waiting for the night when he would walk in and she would smile, her happiness radiating around the room again, or the morning she would step out of her room and hug him.
Or kiss him.
He flopped back on his bed, the dull ache of his heart ever present. he turned to his bedside table where he slid open the drawer and pulled out the shiny necklace that he found in the storage room. He remembered when he was unsure about who he wanted to give it to, Taehyung or Seulgi?
But now he knew.
Kind of.
