on with the story ;)
The chilly wind was beginning to bite harder at his skin. He wrapped his light brown coat even tighter around his black turtle neck. It wasn't winter yet, but it was just the beginning of November, meaning Seoul was going to get a lot colder.
His breath curled in the air in front of him as he strolled through town without a care in the world.
Okay maybe one care.
He ended up getting distracted by the wisps of his breath in front of him and was barely able to react when a strong hand suddenly gripped his and pulled him into a dark alley. Usually he would run, but he was feeling a sudden boost of confidence so he went with hitting them really hard in the stomach.
"OW TAEHYUNG!" Screamed the boy in the leather jacket, bending over with pain. Taehyung was confused at first, wondering how the other knew his name, but his eyes went wide with fear when he recognised the familiar head of blue.
"Oh my God, hyung, I'm so sorry." He winced, putting a somewhat comforting arm on the other's back. Yoongi stood up and inhaled deeply, trying to replace the wind that was previously knocked out of him.
"It's-" He breathed again, brushing his jeans off, "-okay. It's my fault for scaring you like that. To be honest, I expected you to run."
"Yeah, so did I." The silver head could barely make out the older boy's form in the darkness of the alley and under the clouded moonlight. "What was so important that you had to pull me over like this?"
"Someone told me that you told them that you and Jimin were back together." Yoongi spoke slowly. Even thought he couldn't see his face, Taehyung knew Yoongi looked annoyed. "And I know for a fact that that isn't possible."
"How do you know?" Taehyung shot back, his plan that he had just concocted swirling at the top of his mind.
"I just do. And I'm going to ask Jimin." Yoongi said with confidence, so much that it really worried Taehyung.
"Okay, okay, we're not." He admitted. "Did Jungkook tell you?" He looked around to make sure no one saw them.
"Why did you lie to him?" Asked the older boy, ignoring his question.
"Because."
"Because what Tae?" Yoongi arched his brow and crossed his arms before leaning on the brick wall, waiting for an answer.
To be completely honest, Taehyung actually didn't know why. Could it be what Jimin said? He did quite enjoy having power over Jungkook, after all, that's what he loved. But he was sure there was something else, a better reason, somewhere under the electric power in him, the one that was dying.
And Yoongi knew exactly what it was.
"How long has it been since you broke up with Jimin?" He pressed.
"I didn't break up with him. He broke up with me. It's been like, 3 years." Taehyung replied with a tone as even as he could make it.
"Why did you cheat on him?"
"Why do you care?" Taehyung glared at him with as much confidence as he could muster, knowing that Yoongi could be a lot more pressing if he wants.
"Why Tae? Why did you? Why with Jungkook?" Yoongi pushed himself off the wall and stood as tall as he could. Even with being slightly shorter than the younger boy, he towered above him.
Is it just me or is it getting hot?
"Because I like him!" Screamed Taehyung. At first it shocked both of them, but realisation soon dawned upon Taehyung.
It's true.
"I like him hyung." He knew Yoongi wouldn't approve so he looked down with shame, but on the inside he felt fluttery. He was finally admitting it. He pushed Jungkook away all the time, afraid to move on. It had been there, dying under this electric power he had over the boy, an underlying sense of affection. He's had 3 years to grab that opportunity, it was laid out there for him for so long and so clearly, but he had missed it.
"Okay." Taehyung snapped his head up at the surprisingly soft tone. "But Taehyung, you know you've lost him right?"
His heart shattered at the second realisation. "Right."
"But you can get him back you know?" Taehyung raised his brows, something inside him sparking. Hope.
"How? He's so happy with Seulgi." Taehyung's voice broke as he realised how much he had lost.
"But even you know, deep down, that there's something in him that still longs for you." Yoongi started towards the mouth of the alley, Taehyung following along like a puppy. "Don't do anything dumb. You'll push him away."
"Hyung." Yoongi pulled to a stop where people were walking. "I fucked up. How am I supposed to win him over?"
"The same way you got him in the first place." With that, the blue haired boy stuffed his hands in his leather pockets and took off, following the rhythm of the busy streets. Soon he looked like no one except for a man with oddly dyed hair.
"The same way I got him in the first place?" Mumbled Taehyung to himself. He watched his feet step in front of each other as he made his way back to the apartment, where Jungkook would probably be waiting.
He was right.
Jungkook was sprawled on the sofa with his laptop on the glass coffee table in front of him looking totally boyfriend material, he was eating chips whilst watching some series on Netflix.
The only thing that Taehyung didn't enjoy is that Seulgi was sprawled right beside him eating her own bag of chips.
"And I thought you guys were dancers." Scoffed the silver haired playfully as he locked the door.
"Hey Tae." Seulgi smiled with dimples. No matter how hard Taehyung tried to dislike her, he can't bring himself to. She's just too nice.
"I'll be in my room." He spoke again, taking quick steps, he closed the door to his room that was identical to Jimin's. He sighed before slipping his coat off and flopping on his back on his bed, the bottom half of his legs hanging off.
He pictured the two of them sitting there, so close, heads touching as they watched the comedy with junk food piled with them. He could hear Jungkook's low laugh and Seulgi's twinkling one beside's the comedic one from the series. He wished that he was the one on that sofa, tangled with Jungkook, laughing at something on the screen, his heart as full as his stomach was.
He wished he had Jungkook.
If there was one thing Taehyung always had, it was power. He had always had power, over what, there were an infinite amount of choices. So he sat up with determination and went through a new plan to get Jungkook back.
In the best way possible, one that was good for all of them.
The same way he got to him in the first place.
