"What?" Seulgi muttered to no one in particular when she flipped her suitcase close. More like attempted to. "I was so sure I calculated the size of this freaking bag properly." Exasperated, she flipped the bag open again and started pulling pieces of clothing out. She was flying at 7am and it was already midnight, she hadn't fully packed and there were still presents to bring home for her family. And then there was a crash at her door.
"Are we just not going to talk about it then?" Jimin asked, stress clear in his voice.
"No 'hey', no 'you're not sleeping?'" She mumbled to herself, rolling her eyes, still pulling things out of the navy blue bag. "Just barge in. Fine."
"Hello?" Jimin called crossing his arms.
"Yes?" Seulgi finally turned, blowing her hair out of her eyes.
"I asked you, are we not going to talk about it?" He pulled himself towards her by her suitcase. She stood as tall as she could from her place on the ground.
"There's nothing to talk about." The girl replied simply, snatching a black t-shirt from the ground and bringing it to her cupboard.
"Yes, there is." The blond sighed, following her. She spun and stopped him in his tracks.
"No, there isn't." Seulgi snarled, bumping past him while heading back to her suitcase to grab another piece of clothing to shove away.
"Yes there is. We kissed before the Christmas party last Friday, remember? Last day of school? We were leaving the apartment, putting our shoes on-"
"Yes!" Jimin turned to see her standing, this time a pair of black leggings in her hands. "Yes, okay, I remember. Can't we just forget it and move on?"
Truthfully, Jimin couldn't move on. He knew he'd fallen for her since the day he grabbed her hand to stop her from leaving, the second day they were living together. There was something there, he felt it and unfortunately, instead of the spark fizzling out, it just bloomed into a bigger fire. A burning passion for her.
And it was bad.
He couldn't sleep for the whole week. Luckily it was already Christmas holidays so he didn't have to worry about waking up late. He'd barely gotten the chance to talk to her, she was barely in.
Probably with Jungkook.
"No." Jimin blurted. Oh shit.
"No?" Seulgi narrowed her eyes, peering into the dark ones of the boy who wouldn't look at her.
Too late now, gotta keep going. Jimin sighed and began spilling his thoughts from the past 7 days. "I know you felt something. I felt it. I felt that you felt it. You felt it, right?" He hated how desperate he sounded, but he needed to know. He needed to know if she felt it.
Seulgi didn't respond, her arms limp by her sides. She knew he didn't know about her fight with Jungkook and how she'd been spending all her time hanging out with Joy and Irene and making friends with Yeri. He was technically just encouraging her to cheat on Jungkook.
That was wrong.
"No." She said firmly. "I didn't feel anything. Nothing." She turned back to her suitcase and bent over to pick up another piece of clothing, this time mindlessly. Anything to avoid Jimin.
"Then why did you hug me? Why did you kiss me back?" Jimin pressed. It was one of the things he'd thought about when he decided to go talk to her. He knew she would probably deny it, so might as well give some facts.
"I did no-" Freezing, she realised that she did hug him and kiss him back.
"Yes you di-"
"I was thinking about Jungkook." She said, a little louder than she wanted. It wasn't a complete lie, it was after the kiss she remembered him. She forced as much confidence into her voice; breaking his heart was not easy. Her fingers grasped the soft fabric of the shirt in her hands, squeezing hard to prevent herself from saying anything further.
"Oh." Jimin could swear he heard his heart shatter into pieces so small they could never be put together again. Out of all the things he could think of, this was not a response he was ready for. "Right."
"Yeah." Her tone low and quiet, she fisted her free hand, the paint he only thing stopping her from saying the truth. How she would never hurt him like that.
But this was the truth.
She didn't love him.
I'm sorry Jimin. She thought to herself in silence as she watched his heart break right before her eyes. I'm sorry I had to break your heart. I'm sorry.
"You should go."
"Right." Jimin repeated, quieter this time. But his legs felt numb and his arms were weak. He couldn't move, not after that blow. It felt like a punch to the stomach. Surprisingly, he managed a step backwards towards the door and a turn to his room. Once the door slammed shut, Seulgi dropped everything.
Her thoughts on packing were long gone, the shirt now dropped onto the floor beside her. She loosened the tight fist in her hand, leaving purple crescent marks in its wake. Slowly, she trudged to the door and closed it tight before slumping down into a ball with her back against the wood, her face in her hands.
Something wet dampened her palms and when she brought them into her vision, she realised they were tears. Tears of guilt, hurt and sorrow.
What have I done?
sorry this is so late!! ;(
