Jimin's heart bloomed with gaiety as another happy tear fell from her dark eyes.
"What's changed?" He whispered faintly.
"You know what happened this time?" Seulgi sniffled before laughing quietly. Looking into his eyes now, she could see none of the impish sparkle like in the vision. Instead, there was the gentle presence but it was elevated. Jimin was silent, still brushing her cheeks as she spoke. "To our second day together. You might be confused why that's important but-"
"I know." He blurted, interrupting her speech. "You were going to have lunch with Joy and I grabbed your hand before you left."
"You felt it?"
"Yeah, I did." Jimin sighed, and placed an small kiss on her forehead before leaning his own on it. Their breaths mixed and they were quiet for a long while, taking in each other's presence and love.
"This is so cheesy." Seulgi broke the silence and pulled back as they both let out low laughs. A concern that had been on her mind since she woke up bubbled up and before she knew it she was saying, "Jimin?"
The blond hummed in reply.
"I-In the vision, I saw this look in your eyes. Like a distant, I'm-planning-something-look." Her brows furrowed adorably but Jimin didn't seem to notice.
Did she figure it out? Did she realise that all the misunderstandings of friendship were actually intentional? That her first month or so wasn't great because of me?
Seulgi took his silence as an opportunity to continue. "But when you took my hand, it disappeared."
Jimin blinked back into reality and saw her looking into his eyes deeply. He held the stare but eventually it got the better of him and he dropped his vision to the space between them.
"See," She lifted his chin up until he was gazing into her eyes again, "It's gone. Whatever it was, it's gone."
"Do you..." Jimin began. He didn't know how to finish the sentence without being completely transparent about his feelings.
"Do I...?"
He laughed. "Do you feel any different to before? About... About me?" His precious smile slipped from his cheeks.
"I-" Seulgi froze, her words trapped on the tip of her tongue, unable to let go.
Of course.
I know what's been hurting you now.
But I don't feel the spark.
Her expression went dark and Jimin's peace shattered. He asked the wrong question, he said the wrong thing, he-
"Seulgi?" He tried, not allowing his voice to betray him.
But Seulgi wasn't listening.
Wha-
What's happening?
I love Jimin don't I?
I do, or not. Yes I do. But-
I love Jimin, I love Jimin, I love-
A hand touched her thigh and she flinched away, mind racing and heart pounding. There was something wrong, she knew there was something missing, she had feelings for him so where-
"Seulgi are you oka-"
"I'm sorry."
And then she sprinted from the apartment and out into the setting sun.
